It seems noticeable during the day. Back in December they were 34 with -SN when everyone around them was below 32, even Logan. 55-60 will do it for today and was expected. Not sure why people are surprised.
It sort of unravels a bit in the mid levels and tries to retro. So the precip tries to spread out. The problem is that as it happens, it will become more banded and disorganized. But if your under a band, it probably comes down good.
It is, but the thermo profile given the low positions from the surface on up are really strange. But prior to these solutions, the cold was evaporating, so I get that part.

But I honestly cannot recall a setup like the NAM or even RGEM shows. Doesn't mean it's impossible, but there's probably a reason why. I can see why it has it, but maybe it's a bit embellished.
We'll see what the GFS does.
The soundings look a bit cooler vs what the ptype shows, although it could be a lack of vertical layers on the sounding. But anyways, another bizarre look.
