    That's an impressive deep dive. Good stuff. I really haven't paid much attention to the warm poo stuff, but I just plotted precip rate since 1/1/24 and can see that in the same area as the VP stuff shows above. It's interesting that the SST anomalies in the area where convection drives the pattern aren't very warm from an anomaly standpoint...but do increase with latitude as you head toward Japan...water is warm there as well and can help influence the pattern.

    Yeah. You’re losing the CAA so I’m not sure they’ll get much colder than 32-33. Just my guess. Maybe if they hang onto a light NW wind they could. But 22? lol.

    I’ll say this. If we get a 6”+ event, I’m lying nude balls and weenie facing up while drinking a beer.

    I actually wouldn’t differ snowfall wise from what you have. The weenie in me deep down thinks we’re due for a decent winter, but I’m not confident this winter is the one that will do it.

    Sigh as in “not again.” I’ll be honest. I’ve never been as detached from winter. I just want it respectable. I don’t have any thoughts other than the default warmer than normal.

    Even with the wind off Boston Harbor, it’s 33. Still windy out. Can see the ocean effect stratus to my east. Actually feels like November finally.

    So the euro op and ensemble control member are pretty much the same now. As a result, it will go out to 15 days. No weenie control graphics anymore.

    That's a weekly summary vs a daily op run. Week 4 doesn't have a ton of skill, but there are other tools to gauge sub seasonal forecasts and not just weeklies.

    There is some ridging out west so as I mentioned earlier..maybe a shot at an interior and/or NNE synoptic winter event? That might be a window late month and very early December.

    Hr 360 on the op is like being at the bar 8 DIPAs deep and thinking you have Carmen Electra and then day 3 on the op makes you sober up and realize you took home Rosie O-Donnell.

    Was just skimming over this. Looks to be for the ensembles, but the euro op as we know it is also going away IIRC.
