  1. I noticed today that the back side of some tree leaves on the south side are curling, lack of rain or maybe some salt thrown up by the wind. Extremely dry
  2. Weren't Irene and snowtober the same year? 2011. Feb 13 megablizzard followed Sandy but also son of Sandy caused a bunch of outages in NJ NYC
  3. I have lost power so many times that habit left me. Nothing better than waking up to the bathroom light on. Having a generator for the freezers, water and lights is worth its weight in gold. Bought 2 bags of ice on Monday as I paid attention to the forecasts. Put those in the fridges so I could turn the genny off at night. Ran the genny probably 16 hours in 60 hours burned 6 gallons of gas. Food is great. Actually ran the pool pump yesterday so the pool is good although I had to add water today. Power is good
  4. Yep some showers today hopefully. All the little piles of small branches with leaves are crunchy
  5. We power,in time for the retorch. Looks chilly next weekend
  6. Can we just mandatory that Celltowers have generator backup? What is this 1989
  7. Damn its so comfortable here today,no sun at all and low dews. My house needed it. No power, no shirt, no shoes, no problem
  8. Until the EMC explodes 2020 and all
  9. If Jeff dryslot made the brownies the bears would be chillin for hours then have tremendous munchies. You could control them
  10. famous last words.. I used to think like that.
  11. Trees on the sides of roads are not good. We have enough forest everywhere. What kind of generator did you get.
  12. We tried to tell them. We need to trade ambience for reality. Forests are in great shape according to Ct forestry report just issued. Trim the hell out of the trees, take um down.
  13. Crews from Ontario were in Mass yesterday arrived today. After 10 days of no power in Hurricane Bob with 3 little ones and no generator I gave a case of Canadian Molson to a Quebec crew as thanks when they flipped the tripped breaker in front of my house I pointed out to them. I literally stood in the street and stopped the truck and bribed them.. All these guys are heroes their bosses in their Eversource Offices are zeros.
  14. Canada? I thought the border was closed? Those extra crews should have been traveling Sunday
  15. hmm, well away huh, like 10 feet
  16. Act of god, no ones to blame
  17. Luke lives in Southington right? Yikes. Perfect example of trimming N side and not S . If they only had leadership that understood the nature of tropical storms in Ct
  18. Kind of a sad response and pretty typical attitude in Ct. Push the problem down the road it will fix itself. Sad state of affairs. I won't leave because of family obligations but if you think its not all coming to a head you might want to do some research
  19. our town doesn't even have its own bucket truck, lol they share with Canterbury. Disaster prep is a joke around here. I grew up in Westerly RI where its a priority, I guess 38 had a lot to do with that since they had the highest death toll in the country from that.
  20. Our local film / picture critic^^^^
  21. So an example for @Hoth My road, they trimmed the tree across the street but not the one on the south side. These wires cross the street, they told me it was the towns problem. I don't get it, maybe its me.
  22. CEO made 13 million last year
