In the good years or better seasons a cutter was snow to ice/rain with a net gain or minimal loss....if we can get all these cutters maybe we can get a monster snow event like the mid Atlantic had that winter of 2009-2010 or something Nemosesque
These strong cutters with flooding and wind damage risks can end anytime soon. If it were possible I would forgo snow to not have to worry about these demon storms
That was really interesting. Thank you! I used to catch tomcod thirty five years ago when I was a kid while flounder fishing . Nice to see they have a healthy fishery up there. Not many around in the places I found them years ago the past couple decades.
Almost 150 geese and some ducks...Geese are feasting in the very green for early January grass. Never seen this many here at once. Maybe a sign that weather is going to change.
Funny second warmest year but the hottest temp was in mid April. All those high 80 degree days add up along with the warmth the rest of the year. And it was a crazy humid summer.
I am surprised too that we only had a few scattered tiny flurries one day this month...if you blinked you missed them . Couldn't even muster residual lake effect flakes on a blustery west wind.
This is a great post. I too, can't believe the lack of winter in the northern plains, Canada and upper Midwest. Even in NNE they were just barely cold enough most of the time when it did snow.
