  1. If you drink 'em fast enough there's no need for a place to put 'em...
  2. Voyager-1 (via default as the wife had our oldest grandson cut the grass yesterday).
  3. Louisiana has always been bad, but the section he's talking about on I-17, the top layer of blacktop has peeled off of the concrete base in big sheets for about 30 miles. It's an incredibly rough ride. So bad that ADOT temporarily dropped the speed limit 10 mph.
  4. I go up the there at least once a week. You should feel that section in a tractor trailer. But yes, Arizona roads (outside of Phoenix) are in much worse shape than in PA.
  5. Meanwhile...this Thursday and Friday the NWS is indicating 80s for nearly everyone.
  6. Too bad I work on Monday. It'd be cool to meet a CPA board friend while out here.
  7. Finally!!! Monday Sunny, with a high near 98. East northeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming south southeast in the afternoon. Monday Night Clear, with a low around 66. West wind around 5 mph becoming northeast after midnight. Tuesday Sunny, with a high near 99. Breezy, with an east northeast wind 5 to 15 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.
  8. Front blew through Tamaqua. 59 now at 6pm per my backyard station.
  9. Different region and climate, but I had a good grass whitening frost a few years ago on Memorial Day morning up in Tamaqua.
  10. Speaking of winds, this is for Monday here in AZ. Basically all of I-17 north of Phoenix is under this watch that will go to a warning. Lucky me gets to go to Flagstaff again, with an empty trailer, for a dog food load. ...HIGH WIND WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM MONDAY MORNING THROUGH MONDAY EVENING... * WHAT...Southwest winds 40 to 50 mph with gusts up to 80 mph possible. * WHERE...Much of northern Arizona, including the higher terrain of Yavapai County and areas along and north of the Mogollon Rim. * WHEN...From Monday morning through Monday evening.
  11. I wish I could have gotten a report on what was/is happening in Tamaqua, but my wife answers her phone about 25% of the time I call her. It's incredibly frustrating. My station is reporting a peak gust of 15 mph, but it is always way low, being "sheltered" in an "inner city-like" neighborhood. I can figure on nearly doubling the readings for more open areas in the region. That being said, I believe the area didn't have anything approaching severe.
  12. Yup. My mom's house has one. Did any houses in Florida have the roof top set up, or is it strictly a desert thing?
  13. Unless it's made of twigs... That was sarcasm, too.
  14. It never fails. Everytime there's snow in the forecast for Flagstaff, dispatch sends me up there...
  15. This is a cold and snow based weather board in general. Not sure why you're surprised. I, however, am a warmanista and despise winter in general...unless an historic storm is in the offing.
  16. So how wet has it been in Arizona? Year to date, the PWS a couple blocks from my house has received 4.06" of precipitation. Average annual precip is 7.75", so we've already passed the halfway point to our annual average...in less than three months.
  17. I saw that a lot, where it would be 40 in Tamaqua (800ft) and pushing 60 in Hazleton (1,700ft).
  18. Here's a pic from today. It's the I-10 Salt River crossing near Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport. It's a normally dry river.
  19. And this for me, which is totally absurd. Normal is 80, and these temps are actually slightly below average even for late December/early January.
  20. From what I'm hearing, Colorado had a decent winter, but for Lake Powell and Lake Mead it would take 10 years of good winters to bring them up to 70 to 80 percent capacity.
