  1. I'm strange as a weather enthusiest. I love sunny, warm, benign days, yet when a storm threatens (even winter storms) I root for them to verify and hit my area hard. I guess I am truly a weather "nut"... lol
  2. I'd love to be able to work from home on an "when I feel like it" basis (snowstorms) but I'm a truck driver. There's no working from home for me...lol
  3. Yup. Mine is my career choice and driving and working in ice and snow. Chasing a storm on the models is fun, but then reality hits...
  4. I don't remember it, but I wish it would have come true...
  5. Ran through a decent little squall in Hometown over to the I-81 interchange by Mahanoy City on 54. Otherwise, not much.
  6. I meant to put that in my original post. It's seems like the non-advisory events are often much more impressive the the ones that do get an advisory.
  7. Crazy wind gusts here today. One gust did something that never happened before. I have a Rubbermaid trash can that I use to store garden items...fertilizer, weed killer, small tools, etc, and the wind literally ripped the snap tight lid right off it.
  8. That was the winter of the saints. We had the St Valentine's Day massacre, and then we had the St Patrick's Day storm.
  9. You and I think very much alike. I prefer my snow in DJF. By March, I want to start thawing out...
  10. A 330 hr Kuchera snow map? What could possibly go wrong???
  11. Go read the Central PA thread. They don't think we're done yet. And some of the models agree...
  12. I post them to Facebook, save the FB photo to my phone, then delete the one on FB. Works great. Resizes then down to about 200-500 kB.
  13. Nah...I don't think I want to look at it...lol Omg...I just saw DAY 300 and not HOUR. I guess I'd be ok with a day 300 snow map. Holiday week snow is nice, even for a warmanista like me.
  14. Sorry guys. Tired of wearing three layers of clothes to work every night...
  15. Just what I need. A cold and snowy March to follow a snowy February. Whatever happened to frontloaded winters? I hate backloaded ones...
  16. I almost did. I was thinking about HR Ewell out of East Earl for awhile, but they were a bit too far from home to commute to, and too close to home to sleep in the truck in their parking lot..
  17. It's not the roads, it's the loads. Unlike hazardous liquids, or even food grade like chocolate or sweeteners, water is not as "touchy" with the loading and unloading process. Therefore, it's much easier to get wet, especially when unloading. Sometimes the trailer doesn't completely empty out, and we sometimes get a leg bath when we pull the hose. Now we could close the valve when we detach, but if we were to forget to open it back up and it freezes shut, were screwed and can't reload until we thaw it back out.
  18. Agreed. Don't even try to give them a compliment. They will flat out ignore you if you are from another region. My true region is here in Central PA as I fall under CTP's cwa, but the Philly forum has no problem with me posting over there as I live a scant 5 miles from the county line with Carbon, which is in Mt Holly's cwa.
  19. Small world. Before I became a truck driver, I worked on a golf course at Saucon Valley Country Club in Bethlehem. I was considering going to Penn State for agronomy courses/ a degree to advance, but the trucking bug bit, and here I am...
  20. Snowing big fatties in Tamaqua. Roads are starting to cave, especially shady areas. Skipped my last load of the night as I didn't want to get stuck on the Blue Mountain coming back with an empty trailer.
