Are these measurements all from the same place?
Yes, my snowboard in backyard.
Oops...caveat. the first 3 years are KSYR. NWS lost my first 3 years of data in the old system pre CoCoRaHS.

Crazy because I think Bing/Alb set snowfall records last year? Syr has been missed in all directions. Just bad luck TBH.
I'd agree. Given the surrounding results and having a longer term view, I ascribe this 3 year run in the SizzleCuse area to random probabilities. And of course the Jonah moving locally. ;) I'd have to check my records but I seem to recall that of the first 10 winters here only 2, maybe 3, that were substantially below avg with the rest being at or a bit above avg.

I say watch out around the Ides of March. The last 5 years we’ve had a couple of major snowstorms in the middle of March.
We will need a pretty solid next 4-5 weeks just to reach the putrid snowfall levels of the past two winters. And this week looks lost already.

Yup, at this rate, Saharacuse could have its least snowiest winter on record. (With that being around 50 inches, I didn't think it was attainable...but this has been one pile of #@$#$@.) The past decade has been awful for snow here. 11-12, 15-16, the past 2 winters, this winter...that average is going to fall pretty good at this rate.

Sure does! It would turn what looked like an ugly week to quite a snowy one for the Cuse. WNW lake effect snow off and on tonight and tomorrow...brief rain on Thursday changing to moderate to heavy snow...and then what looks like a clipper coming over the weekend. It would probably end up being one of the snowiest weeks of the winter here. If only it came to fruition... lol
Stop hitting the crack pipe so early in the day! Soon, many rains come.

Agreed. Bengals got away with one on their TD right after halftime, so they can't complain too much...but the calls at the end were a bit sketchy. It turned into a flag fest after the refs let them play for the most part. I think Cincinnati made a mistake going for it on 4th down on their opening possession. Why give the Rams momentum and good field position there? Thought it put them behind the eight ball early. The Bengals need to improve their offensive line in the offseason also. They're going to ruin Burrow if he keeps getting sacked that much.
The final drive flag fest really changed my perspective on the overall game which I thought was a good one. Prevailing consensus on TWTR (the experts LOL) was that the initial PI call on the Bengals during the final drive was a makeup call for the missed offensive facemask on Cincy's TD at start of 2nd half. And then it's like they couldn't help themselves. I'd like to think the refs are better than that but looked fishy to me given that almost no ticky tack penalties were called all game till that point. Did the better team win? Probably but the Rams were just a shade better, not convincing...

Rogers so hard to warm up to, and his postseason history is not great. But...great regular season numbers. I'd take him on the NYG over the current options...

We were going to go ski at Snow Ridge today.
Then I took the dog out at 0600 and walked on our residual glacier.
It feels like it could easily support a 500 pound man.
And there's no fresh on top.
Time for a good book!
Snowpack here, about 6", is glacier like. My Husky walks on it without leaving footprints.

BGM is hilarious. The models are trending further SE and snowier for the end of the week, yet they made temps higher and reduced snow chances. I noticed the weekend crew there tends to do this though.
I'm at 56" of total snowfall for the season and it's looking like we will struggle to reach even 70" at this rate, unless we nickel and dime our way there over the next month. Which is what i suspect happens.

My snowpack survived our mini torch but is probably down to 2-3 inches. There are some small bare spots in drainage areas but the remaining snow will freeze into an ice sheet tonight.
About 6" of avg snowdepth here still though we've lost over 1/2 of it in the past few days. Looks like most of the rest of it will be gone other than snowpiles over the next week. Sigh.

Used to be that March was my favorite winter month. We used to have some real beauties in March. Last 3 years you wouldn’t know it.
This nonsense about, ‘winter is almost over I hope’ has got to stop!
This is a weenie forum. If you must talk like that go hit up your Aunt GertrudeWhat if Aunt Gertrude was run over by a snowplow in March because her glasses were fogged up wearing a mask? How insensitive. Do better.

this def explains why numbers are lower. Def not a fan of measurement 1 time a day, I do every 6 hours, then clear

I think a lot of people who report can usually only do about once a day, or maybe x2 if motivated/home. I've seen where more frequent measurements make a difference, esp if you measure right after/during a snowfall vs waiting overnight where settling/melting can reduce measured amts. Not always but...

O yea, elev is massive. Honestly, I probably will move again to somewhere in the tughill in the near future. I got this house to just get up here. Now that I'm close I actually take the time to look at houses instead of driving 5 hours to see a house.
Btw, pretty wild, lowville webcam in the center of the town is not even snowing really. Been steadily snowing here as I'm basically on the edge of the adirondacks.
Maybe Carol has a Unabomber shack you could get on the cheap?

Here's my assessment of the 12Z model runs: Buffalo continues to add on to its season snowfall amounts while Syracuse continues to struggle to get even an inch during one of its least snow winters ever (after two pathetic winters already). Gah. Bring on Fall.
You skipped over Snowy Spring and Sizzling Summer. Weird.

12Z GFS has 5 synoptic misses in this run. Most are offshore and/or S&E. Hope that's just its usual bias showing up.

Espn insider had a really insightful article on the game, the adjustments made, what worked and did not, and does touch on the officiating aspect at the end. It's paywalled, and I apparently can't copy the link to here. I have access thru my espn+ sub to watch soccer.
Upshot on Refs is that they have a demonstrated tendency to "let them play" in playoffs and teams take advantage of that with more aggressive individual tactics but...there is also a pattern for the refs to start throwing flags late because it becomes too much by late in these bigger games. If teams were smart enough, they could tone down taking liberties late in games to avoid exceeding the referees limits. Easy to say, hard to consciously do I'm sure.
