It’s really cold. The bottom weather strip/trim of my garage door stuck to the ground and pulled off the door when I got home tonight. Came back from friends’ farm north of Leesburg - it was brutally cold and windy - so much wind that it was blowing cold air down the furnace exhaust. .
Front just hit. Rain for now, but looks like some frozen precipitation mixed in. I’m south of Leesburg, 6 miles NW of runway 30 at IAD. Getting ready for the wind and bitter cold.
Blowing like I haven’t seen in a while. This is an amazing storm and so happy to have real snow back. Normally would be at work, but recovering from COVID so….SNOW DAY!
South of Leesburg; 6 mi NW of IAD.
Rates have def picked up. The sleet is heavy enough you can see it falling - like a decent rainstorm. And the occasional flak mixed in. But 98% sleet still. S of Leesburg, NW of Dulles.
Steady, heavy big flakes in Middleburg. Sticking on the roads for 30 seconds before melting. Mulch is already covered. Seems really close for the roads to cave.
