  1. It’s kind of a toothless mandate. Just requests really. It also makes broad brush statements that don’t make sense in some places. But I get why
  2. Gust front coming through now. Winds picked up in intensity
  3. Lol. Exactly the same here (or at least a mile from here)
  4. Most of my oaks are bare or close to it.
  5. Things iced up pretty well here after the plows. Salt was needed.
  6. We gave out full sized bars and had them set out on an illuminated table in our driveway. We sat by a fire pit some distance away. We still have a ton of bars left
  7. The full moon on the snow was brilliant. Almost like daytime at 4AM
  8. Well, you don’t have to follow the times. They are more like guidelines than actual rules.... Most cities and towns around here set times
  9. Got pretty cold towards the end. Our town for some reason extended trick or treat by an hour. It was 27F when we wrapped things up. Way fewer trick or treaters
  10. Just need to slow it down. That was always the idea. Buy time until effective treatments and vaccine are developed. Masks and social distancing help in that a bit. Not 100%. Testing helps slow down outbreaks a bit. Not 100%.
  11. That sounds pretty typical. It still will help with influenza even if it it doesn’t nail it. In 2004-2005 it was only 10% effective. Oof
  12. Jury is still out. Behavior might play a bigger role than the vaccine. But we get it anyway.
  13. Yeah. It looks odd with them raining down on the tapestry of white. Most of my oak leaves are down thankfully. Stick season will be here soon
  14. Im hopeful this year’s flu vaccine is effective. Plus there is some (albeit weak) evidence it might be helpful vs Covid-19 https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/a-flu-shot-might-reduce-coronavirus-infections-early-research-suggests/
  15. We still had snow OTG the following week. Our town postponed trick or treating for a week due to the high snow banks etc When we took our kids around there was still a decent amount of snow
  16. I’m trying to remember the days after the 2011 storm. I don’t recall it being very cold. My kids were sledding with leaves on the trees.
  17. My primary care doctor was thinking flu might be very low due to social distancing and masks.
  18. Near sunset yesterday it had partially cleared. The low light being cast on the snow and foliage of different colors and the sky made for amazing scenery. I was driving so couldn’t capture it but it was stunning
  19. I’m going with our daughter’s 6.5” measurement. I really didn’t think we would hit 4”. Oh well. The leaves will have to wait
  20. October 1979. That was probably the closest in your area
