  1. I saw 70 on the dashboard a little while ago. Wearing jeans I felt overdressed
  2. I have snowshoes for sale They ought to work just as well for mud as for snow.
  3. No no no, it's all about snow totals. I guess you missed the memo Speaking of fog, that sure was a sketchy ride home last night and this morning ought to be nearly as much fun.
  4. Warm rain warm snow rain warm snow warm. I'm so confoozed
  5. Yeah there were a few bare spots when the clouds moved in around noon but I'd still have called it 95% cover. I just got home a little while ago and it's down to about 50% but judging by how dense the fog is and how warm the rain is I'm guessing it's gone by early tomorrow. What an ugly forecast for the week, rain and fog pretty much all the way through. Yuck
  6. I'm kind of surprised that the snow didn't nearly vanish yesterday with as warm as it got and the warm ground underneath. If it stays sunny today and rains tonight it's cooked. Nice while it's here though...
  7. 8" on the ground, a little over 9 on the car tops. Lowest layer on the ground was pure slush due to warm ground. So now I only need ~20" to reach normal for the season.
  8. Yeah on NEXRAD that back edge looks like it's hauling a** and ought to be here within the hour unless something redevelops back there. edit; As I was typing that it looks like a bubble is forming on that western edge. Maybe I get close to 2 more hours I'll take it
  9. A couple more hours with these rates and I might just end up with the best storm of the season so far. I'm well over 5" now and it's just dumping. Nice snow too, wet and sticky but light and fluffy Too bad it'll be gone by Monday afternoon.
  10. Nah it was moms picking the kiddies up from the bus. Heaven forbid they do something nice for someone especially if it means getting their precious hands dirty. They're all b*tches anyway so I expected nothing. Beautiful fog out there this morning
  11. I had to pull my car onto the front few feet of the lawn yesterday to shuffle cars around in the driveway and it got stuck in the mud What a pain in the butt pulling it out with the Durango by myself. Want to know what pissed off neighbors is all about? Try blocking a dead end street for 15 minutes... So 2-4 Saturday night or more?
  12. Haha. It's a rare trip that I don't bring home something alcoholic. Ya know, a growler of this or a growler of that and because VT and NH have state liquor stores they usually have the best prices on things like Rum. Last time I got a bottle of Bacardi Black for less than $10 and I usually get tequila for about the same. I think this time I'll be looking for a maple bourbon or similar.
  13. Yup, opened the door for the dogs to go out and one of them hit the ground almost right away. The look on her face was a combination of confusion and disappointment. So what's the story with Saturday night? How far up will the line be and is it going to snow all the way into interior New England? I have to be in Littleton NH by 10am on Sunday and would rather not have the 300 miles take all night to get there.
  14. Yeah it was ~34-35 so no ice but that fog WOW. What a waste of (another) winter week ahead. If anyone is heading south on Noxon Rd there's a bone jarring pothole that your right front wheel will hit so hard you'll think the front end of the car is going to get torn off. With the fog and glare from oncoming headlights there was no way to see it. The car needs a new front tire now Of course it being a Subaru with 20k on the tires probably means 4 new tires
  15. Pretty much no snow here and most of the ice has gone away other than a few spots where it was super thick, even most of the parking lot snowbanks are gone. I have to drive up to Poughkeepsie in about an hour and it looks like it's right around freezing north of 84. Is it getting icy again on the roads?
  16. I'm in Poughkeepsie and it's ranging from light to moderate snow, temp has been holding steady at 28* for a while now. Tiny flakes so it's not accumulating quickly. Too bad it's going to be NCP by morning
  17. It was snowing pretty hard in NW CT when I was there between 6-7 this evening. Boy did the CT River valley see some ice from yesterdays storm. It sure was pretty to look at but I bet there were some frustrated people in the morning when they walked out to go to work. I know that I slid down my driveway, good thing the car was at the bottom to stop me from sliding right into the street. Ouch. What's with all the r**n in the forecast for the next few days? That's ugly...
  18. I should've done that too. Hopefully the sun does its job and melts the thin ice layer that's on the driveway. My street is a disaster with big chunks of ice and ruts from cars driving through the slush.
  19. Will this snow add up to anything or just be mood flakes as the cold air filters in? I hope it just moves through and ends, storms like this one remind me of the late 70's/early 80's and late 90's/early 00's and those generally weren't fond weather memories.
  20. Woohoo rain at 25* I couldn't decide what was better, to leave the snow on the driveway and let the rain turn the top into a sheet then scrape it off when it was all over or scrape it down first so it would be black underneath so the sun could do it's job tomorrow. I decided to scrape and make a pile that would survive the rain and freeze into a long lasting block of white ice. Hopefully I don't crash and burn if I go out tonight or tomorrow morning.
  21. Any news coverage of the TZ mess? edit: scratch that I found it
  22. It was just a few miles from my house, I was actually there last night around 8pm. Snowfall intensity has been varying widely the last 30 minutes or so. The wind has definitely taken more of an ESE component to it but the temp is still stable at ~22*. Approaching 2" otg now. Gonna go out and shovel just to create a pile that might last through the changeover
