I appraised one of the homes that got levelled in Brimfield last year, the owner had quite an amazing story, she barely made it into the basement with her two golden retrievers in time and was scared shitless when it passed over. They ended up with a 10 acre wooded lot looking like a field afterwards. They did get the house rebuilt and lived in a FEMA trailer on their property for a year while they rebuilt. The good news is they planned on cutting down a couple of acres of trees and put up a barn for horses, the tornado did that work for them and the rebuilt home is beautiful.
I probably have the year wrong, I don't have a memory like Wills but I remember it was Feb school vacation and we had a blizzard the first day and a week later, I think the second blizzard was the better of the two. I was dressing to go outside and it's the only time I remember my mother not letting me go out into the blizzard. I was actually pissed at the timing because we had two great storms and didn't get a snow day since we were on school vacation.
A later November early December snow storm would hit the spot. When I was a kid it seemed we always got the first decent storm beginning of December although I remember a couple of Thanksgiving snow storms that cancelled the High School games
AS much as I love winter weather and would love to 2015 repeat I don't want any part of an ice storm like that, I was lucky in 08, I was at 33 degrees and just wet but I remember I had an appt in Fitchburg about 3-4 days after the event and it was no lights and all I could hear were generators, on the ride up 190 it looked like a bomb went off with the tree damage.
I read somewhere that he said he was in the wrong place at the wrong time and brought it to social media and he shouldn't have. I don't follow him on any social media, maybe the answer's there.
That's what we used to do, get 6-8 people and split the lodging for the weekend, get skiing in Friday, Saturday and Sunday, go home Sunday night, really helped to spread the cost.
