Ski areas are the same.  They settle all the time without admitting fault but just to avoid lengthy litigation costs.  “We admit no fault, in fact we are certain you are batshit crazy or high as a kite, but what would it take to just get this to go away? We are not paying major legal fees because you hit your head on ice and missed two days of work with a migraine.  How much do you make per day at your job?”

It is insane the number of people who get a lawyer to write a letter about the dumbest mundane stuff.

It's insane the number of lawyers willing to do it.

Tree House and pork chops.  Picked up some local corn from a farm in Woodstock that looks awesome.  Haven’t seen any local corn yet up north but these stalks are huge down here.  Rain FTW?

Just had some local corn the other day, it was pretty good butter and sugar, the best corn comes out in later August, it's mirah, very sweet, better than silver queen.

That base-running in the bottom of the 7th was the dumbest Red Sox thing I’ve seen in a long time.  No idea wtf that was.

Of course the Rays score 2 in the 9th to tie their game and then walk it off in the 10th.  They are back to the team that doesn’t lose.

Edit: Wasn’t pretty but a win is a win.

Crazy 10th, never seen 4 wild p[itches in 1/3 of an inning, I missed the base running miscue, lost the feed on my tv, what happened?

Did a new batch of gnats hatch today or something? Just completed 20 minutes of picking up branches and crap and was swarmed by gnats the whole time. Unbearable amount.

They got us pretty good at the golf course yesterday, first time this year we've been bugged by bugs. I assume mosquito's are next.

So I've been looking ahead to my lawn/garden/beds and what I'll need to do.  I need to repair my lawn which has not been maintained well over the years through my own fault.  I need to start taking better care of it and I've been researching steps to do so.  Dethatching/Scarifying and over-seeding is going to be a huge piece,  I ended up purchasing this today.

    https://snowjoe.com/products/sun-joe-13-inch-12-amp-electric-scarifier-lawn-dethatcher-w-collection-bag

Electric Dethather/Scarifier.  I've researched this for a couple weeks and this brand seems to be reputable and the reviews of the product are outstanding.  I'm excited to see the results.  Once i have that piece done, I'll need to over seed and I'm leaning towards a lower maintenance. TTTF.  They require less water and are more resistant to summer drought periods and disease.  In conjunction with this, I'll be doing new planting beds around the yard and I'm thinking the most efficient way to create them is to use a tiller on the areas to churn in up and than form the edges.  Lots to do.

I was looking at another brand, let us know how it goes with yours, my lawn needs a dethatching badly and seeding.

Saw an albino porcupine earlier this evening walking along the road. Looked liked a giant, walking cotton ball. Wish I had stopped to take a pic but there were already a couple of cars pulled over with people trying to usher it back into the woods.

Saw an albino turkey with two small albinos with it, should have taken a pic.

Best round of the year for me today. +4 74. If I could putt just a little better would have been close to even.

I was striking the ball well tonight but had two bad holes, mostly pars couple bogeys and two "others", missed two failrly easy birdie putts,  need to play more to get more consistent but weather was beautiful for golf today.

i bought a new truck recently. was pre-approved through my bank for 2.15%. Dealer gave me $1500 off to take their financing at 2.25%. cost me $1 more/month ($600 total) and saved me $900. no brainer

I went fishing on Lake Ontario last month, the captain bought a F2150 Ford and they offered him 10K more than he paid for it a few months ago. Like he said, then what do I but so he refused.

In early June I went and did a fitting for the TaylorMade P790s. First set of clubs I ever got fit for, fun experience.

Since I knew what club I wanted, it was all about finding the right shaft. My spin rate was too low for a 7 iron (should run between 6500-7500 ideally) with the first, heavier shaft to we dropped the weight some. Then I started pulling my shots. Finally settled on one that gave me the right combo of higher spin rate, good launch angle, and more of a spread centered on the fairway instead of dead pulls. It was cool to see how much my ball flight changed just by switching out shafts.

I also averaged 185 carry with the 7 iron, after not playing any golf in nearly a year. These clubs jump.

Getting fitted makes a big difference. Just think back in the olden days the clubs they used and how well they hit the ball, golf's come a long way.

  10. It's a little ambiguous here:

The girl explained that she’d been drinking a lot, and felt ill, so she rested on one of the beds. Baldwin approached her and began fondling her breasts, then put his hand under her underwear, fondling her clitoris. This wasn’t consensual, she told them. She was passing out during the act. He gave up trying when the rest of the group re-entered the room, perhaps, she said, out of frustration.

Did he stop when he heard the others coming into the room so no one saw what happened? This is the part of the story that's not clear. Not sticking up for the guy if he knew its a scumbag thing to do.

  11. I have Rahm, Oostie and Hovland so should get at least third place in the pool. Have Schauffele and Fleetwood too. Need to pick the winner to get first place, only time anybody won without the winner was when Michelson won, no one picked him.

At least with the rainy day I don’t feel guilty about laying on the couch watching the final round of the Open.

I can't watch it with no cable but Oostie's letting me down. Need him to make a run on these final holes.

  13. That close lightning strike last night fried my cable boxes, tvs work so I guess I got lucky there, computers ok too and I have internet so not sure how just the boxes got fried. I felt a zap up my arm with my hand on the mouse when it hit but didn't seem to affect the computer.

Tarp of course comes out once NY takes the lead. The umpiring has been a shitshow. The fans a cherry on top.

They had a one hour rain delay to start the game, with no rain, then the sox pitchers have to pitch in a down pour and now the Yanks have the lead they call a delay, what a friggin joke. If they started on time the game would be over before the rain. Incompetent umps.

Vaz did not swing there with bases loaded. Sox bench was right to be outraged.

That out call at first was as bad as I've seen since Denkinger in the world series.
