  1. Heading to Maine tomorrow morning to babysit my sisters two dogs for 3 days, she has a golden and a rescue hound, not sure what he is, about 60lbs and looks like the dog in the last picture.

It’s west of Rt. 7 in the CPV near Vergennes. I can’t imagine the snow is great.

That's what I thought but still better than where I am. If I move north it's going to be in a good snow spot. My wife's leaning toward Maine so I'm scoping out places not too far from the coast and not too far north. Again, anyplace there is better than here.

Have a 16' "bass boat" for the Quabbin. Complete rebuilt from just the hull. Has a 20hp Mariner and does low 20s. Have dual 7" Garmins and 24v 70lbs Minn Kota with the co-pilot system. If you are looking for a Quabbin boat look for the older 80s hulls, 0* rise and  lighter hulls so great in rougher water and quick. I could put a 25hp 4-stroke on for the Q but just love the older two-strokes. I might get it washed again in September to fish the last month of the Q, we'll see. Drop-shotting smallies in 30-50' this time of year gets boring.

Looks similar to the Starcraft I had for the Quabbin, do you have downriggers?

My two cents on Toyota pickups, I have a small service company, since 1991 we have been running Toyota Tacoma Pickups, ALL 4 cylinder I have no experience with their 6 cylinders. Their 4 cylinder are bullet proof in my opinion, we sold two twin 1991 many years back with about 445,000 miles each, with no issues, just wear and tear items, exhaust, brakes etc.

We still have a 2001, 2013 & 2017 highest mileage in about 240K, all 4-cylinders, FYI 1999 Frame issues began I also think with the Tundra.

the 22RE engines are legendary. That said my water pump went on my Highlander yesterday, have 123k so good life out of it.

Back in the 80's we had a converted Chevy Van 20 (still remember the badge).  The engine died after 20k or 30k and they would not warranty it.  I don't remember what happened in the end but my dad and then by extension me never bought another GM vehicle after that.

I had a GM pickup I bought in 86, sold it to my friend with over 100k miles, he drove it for another 100k before getting a new truck. Never did anything other than brakes, battery and tires, basic maintenance. That said, I love my Toyota's.

i am really disappointed in my lawn this year, thanks to all the rain. red thread is running wild, and there are about 300 different species of mushrooms growing. Usually I aerate and overseed in the early fall, but going to skip it this year. it's just too wet to mess around with.

I had it one year and was told nitrogen would take care of it, I think I put down ironite and it went away.

It’s definitely my property. Even if they put one of those metal cables to each part of the tree, might help. My eye says all but two trees are in good shape on my property.

I had a rotten tree leaning towards my house, my BIL partially cut it then hooked up a chain to it and yanked it down in the opposite direction. It knocked off a couple shrubs but better the shrubs than the house.

We've had some pretty good storm damage and flooding here this summer, this storm underperforming a bit here was ok with me.  We had about 2.5 inches of rain and probably a couple gusts near 45. The severe storm a couple of weeks ago here was probably closer to 65 mph and near 70 a bit south of here.  All this water has exposed some home issues we are getting fixed,  we've got some water coming down around the chimney and also getting water in the basement from the foundation and from a window that needs replacement.   I've also got a weaker tree that was damaged fr the last storm,  so yeah I'm cool with today.

I have the same problem, what are you using to waterproof the chimney? I've looked at a few products and not sure which one Ill try.

Brutal.   I turned on the TV this AM and it was painful to watch.  Reporters panning in on puddles on the pavement and treetops that were barely moving.   Just say that you're going to return to regular programming and then cut back in if events warrant.   Interestingly back in Hurricane Gloria there was no local coverage outside of regular news times...the soap operas and game shows ran despite a legit storm...what's changed since then?

Surveyed my yard and all I have is some sticks and leaves, not complaining, the next town over had trees down.

For all those out there meh-ing and poking fun at this storm…there are actually folks that do have some significant damage to deal with.  My folks just south of Worcester just had a very large tree fall on their house, well away from the center.

Just went outside and the wind's blowing pretty good here. It seems to only be when you get heavy rain and it mixes that you get the wind.

This is really lame. Not much up on the hill here either for wind.

It’s now or never for gusts....really between now and 3-4pm. We’re seeing temps/dews rise a bit into the low 70s so that may try to help the good 925 winds mix down, but the clock is ticking.

What do you mean Will, tree branch down in Auburn, on the news now :D

8 days without power? Wtf, you live in Afghanistan?  I think I’ve lost power here a total of 2 days in 17 years.

I lost it for six days in the Octoberbomb and a few times for a day or two since then.
