Last few days have definitely been a roller coaster ride. We're out, back in, monster bomb, back out, back in halfway. Whew. I'm exhausted.

It's all relative. I don't get "mad" about the IMBY posts anymore. East of DC had been a dumpster fire since 2016 before that Jan 3rd storm.- 4,130 replies

Improved in the synoptics, yes. Just hope the surface bears a little more fruit in later runs.- 4,130 replies

Correct but a different timeframe (few days earlier). The 6Z from yesterday showed the storm similarly in the same timeframe.- 4,130 replies

Funny thing is, it's similar to what the GFS showed on the 6Z run from the 20th. Bombed off the coast but didn't throw anything back into our area. https://www.tropicaltidbits.com/analysis/models/?model=gfs®ion=eus&pkg=mslp_pcpn_frzn&runtime=2022012006&fh=222- 4,130 replies

To be fair though, for the next 4-5 hours or so, I can fantasize about it. It's amazing taken verbatim. #fantasysnow- 4,130 replies

I haven't seen past 216 so not sure if it pulls further north or continues to the east. If it pulls up the coast from here, it's an epic bomb of historical proportions.- 4,130 replies

Yeah, was seeing that as well just didn’t realize the difference it would make downstream. Now we see. Ha. Need more energy helD back there. Need to keep an eye on that feature as we move forward.
-
Yeah, H5 looks really different. Not holding back the energy over the SW like it was in 12Z.
-
Definitely proved the point over the last few weeks. Aren't they upgrading the GEFS? I read that on here recently me thought. I am getting old.
-
For the next few hours we can imagine what this newest blizzard would look like... then watch as the 18Z takes it all away.
-
Definitely cannot argue this logic. GFS has been pretty fantastic this year.
-
I mean honestly, this 500 map is NSFW. But yeah, 9 days out. Still, this is what we do right? #CharlieBrown

Jan 21 - 22 Weekend SE VA and Eastern Shore Snow

Yup. Fingers crossed it's back tomorrow
-
Yeah 0Z GFS is like what storm from 18Z? Oh well, for now.
-
To play devil's advocate, being in the bullseye this far out usually doesn't end well.
-
I don't want to be in the bullseye this far out. Obviously, the GFS/Euro show something and that's what I'm sticking with right now. The track details have more work to do yet. Obviously, a further shift east puts everyone in the game, rather than this I-81 mess.
