I'll keep it 100 by admitting that yes we did get one last bit of the overall weather system tonight. Pretty good real heavy shower with thunder that was loud as hell. May have picked up a quick quarter inch. In a few days, massive cold front will smash into south central Texas bringing our very first official HIGHS in the 60s and lows near 40. Brrrrrrrr! It's gonnabe fun and refreshing! I might take a very slow painful jebwalk in it too. Left knee and foot's a birtch these days. Word to the wise: Too damn much jebwalking when you're young can end up like the Jebman at 61 lmao.

In other news though, they have seen 14 inches of snow on Mt Bachelor; AR is underway with more coming down! That's 21 inches on their season so far! Its blowing too!! That atmospheric river in Washington State, it is invading Oregon, too! Look out Mt Bachelor!

Time for a rant about getting missed. OK last night we eked out 1.5 inches. But tonight we were supposed to get another 2 inches. Those storm are 5 miles away. I can see them! We are gonna miss by only a few miles. I just covered my car with a tarp. Automatic JINX. Every time I do that ----- We get missed. Lucy loves this place, and my damn back is so sore from Lucy yanking that accursed football out from under me every time I try for a 10 yard field goal. Damn. I hate living in Death Hell Valley, Texas. There is nothing worse than living in an arid place. I'd take 1000 years of 32.9 degrees with 7,000 inches of rain a year and my house is on titanium stilts 300 feet high. This is a kind of living death watching all my precious plants slowly dying of drought. Drought is a way of life in south central Texas.

We're getting a lot of steady light to moderate rain over hours. This is the best because it soaks in does not run off.

Well slightly better news tonight: Its 71 degrees BUT that dewpoint is steadily falling, I am watching it fall right thru the 40s!!! It's 42 now. This is a very DRY airmass, it is gonnabe nice and crisp later tonight when I venture out for some delivering. Time for the light coat! If only we had some rain and wind to go with it! I can barely feel it but we have a delightful NE wind at 5 mph!!!

It's 91/66 an sure enough I am outside clearing brush like a common inmate such as Cool Hand Luke, except I am not very cool, and it is sure not cool outside. Hell goes on in south Texas. Us getting down to average lows like 57 degrees is a RARITY. We are averaging 10-13 degrees ABOVE avg for lows. No end in sight, it will continue hot and humid likely right into November, and absolutely no RAIN for the foreseeable future. Fuels such as grass and scrub are drier than a proverbial popcorn fart. One spark and the entire state goes up and me with it. What a relief! I can't work in this hot dry torrid environment. This part of the world is CURSED. No doubt about it. Its deep Autumn everywhere but south Central Texas where HELL SUMMER reigns supreme. That subtropical high is made of steel and all other weather systems just bounce off it. Its the Ultimate Klingon Anti Rain and Anti Cold Front Shield.

Cruel, cruel SE winds already warmed things up. We fell to 51 and I was so happy. Then that pesky southeast trade wind started up and warmed us to 65 already! Damn that subtropical high from Hell! It is like the damn Energizer Bunny. It just keeps going, and going, and going............

Yeah I have an ob of sorts. This is hard to believe, but it is ONLY 57 55 degrees, with a dewpoint of 43 degrees. The wind is light out of the north If only I had some steady light to moderate rain to go with this delightful 55/42 coolness, I'd be so damn overly happy I'd run up and down Cabela's Blvd in Buda at 3am stark frackin' naked. HOWEVER tomorrow, BACK up to 94 degrees. This subtropical high just won't give up. Its the Summer With No End. I think there is no such thing, as a Pattern Change. Not this low sun season and not in Texas.

Snyder is gone but his "legacy" lives on in the Commanders. This is why I am a Ravens fan. Ravens will get better; Commanders will assuredly not.

Ouch very warm dry all winter in Texas. NWS is a genius. We will be extremely hot and dry thru the winter in south Texas. Meanwhile in other news.......numerous nor'easters smash into DCA along with anomalous cold and snow after snow after snow after snow. It gets so dry in TX that the Diaspora begins, people leaving for moister and rainier pastures. Nothing can live in our 1930s Dust Bowl. Long range forecasts paint a very dismal picture indeed of the Southwest including Texas. almost no rain at all right into Summer 2026. Also no help from the Tropics: No hurricane landfalls expected in 2026 either, irregardless of ENSO. I know why but I am not saying. I want hurricane ravaging of the US coastlines back. I miss 2005 so much. The eastern US will have anomalous cold along with record snowpacks, followed by a dismal chilly "spring" followed by an anomalously cool summer 2026 with plenty of rain from May 2026 onward, after a very snowy low sun period. Many industries now moving into Texas will be leaving next year: Too Damn DRY - No water and notable dust storms reminiscent of Arizona and other places that normally get dust storms. Texas gets renamed The Haboob State, in place of The Lone Star State. This is the future and the present folks, read em and weep. Lots factories are gonnabe getting out of Austin soon. WATER will be costlier than GOLD or even gasoline.

We hit 92 again today. FUCK! I am sick to death of summer in late October. I want cold with high winds. I want tons of rain, wind-whipped heavy torrential rain in 43 degree conditions, I want floods in EVERY low water region while I am trying to deliver at 0423 am. Okay cold front is supposed to hit Sunday. We need wind gusts to 50, and lows need to plummet to 37 instead of a hot 49 Sunday night. I officially want another February 2021, cold as heck, maybe even colder but with lots rain and maybe a touch of snow. I am sick of hot weather! I want to get drowned by heavy rain and frozen solid by abnormally frigid temps down here! It's about time! I am sick and tired of the Dust Bowl. I crave Waterworld. I want water everywhere alongside frigid cold wet winds blasting HARD straight out of the North. Enough of August in late October.

I am sick to DEATH of summer. I have HAD IT with highs in the low 90s! I want a Tambora. I want someone to tamper with the weather in such a way that Siberian fronts immediately demolish Buda Texas starting tomorrow with 85 degree temperature departures and north winds 30 to 50 mph for days and days loaded with torrential rain until Buda makes Kerrville look like Death Valley. I hate high pressure systems. I hate the damn sun. I hate summer. I can't move from this accursed place where long range forecasts call for no rain and highs in the low 90s well into 2026. The Polar Westerlies have been abolished forever. I demand severe Siberian fronts and about 50 billion massive low pressure systems that load cold rain on south central Texas until we are in the news all over the world. Freezing cold rain whipped by 59 mph northerly gales. Thick clouds in 12 layers until it is as dark in the daytime, as it is at 4am when I am delivering. I am sick to death of mid summer in late October. Never ever want to see that damned sun ever again! Everything is brown outside. This place is like the 1930s Dust Bowl.

Mammoth where it is now 34 degrees with about a foot of fresh snow on the ground ------ They have decided to pile up artificial snow right on top of the early natural snowpack!!!! IN MID-OCTOBER!!! DO ANY OF YOU REALIZE HOW EARLY IN THE SEASON THIS REALLY IS?!! They are gonna get some of those trails ready and likely be able to open EARLY! I remember that one too. That was back when I was only 23. I walked everywhere. That day was NO exception! I was blasting tracks on my headphones and walking much faster than anyone else. I might have been slightly excited about the weather that day. I was still working for Eagle Construction. We tried to work a couple of hours, they finally quit. I walked all up and down Jeff Davis Hwy all day. I was in pure Heaven. Back in those days I could walk around for hours and hours and hours. I helped people dig out. Later when i got home that night. I got to dig our place out too. Then I started on our neighbors who were elderly. Man I have never been so damn elated in my life. I WHOOPED OUT a few real loud Woooooooo-----Hooooooooos over getting to dig so much snow! There were some excessively embarrassingly tall piles of the stuff when I got done, too.

Palisades Tahoe is currently experiencing heavy snow and blowing snow https://www.palisadestahoe.com/mountain-information/webcams Mammoth was very heavy but is lighter, looks to be about 7-12 on the ground at Main Lodge and Woolly Cam. McCoy Station earlier in the daytime, they really got slammed HARD, they are at 10000 feet and may have well over a foot of snow and still snowing hard up there! Nice early season snow! This is early for them, we are talking at least a foot of fresh snow on the slopes. Should be a good base to blow more artificial snow on top of and get them open really early! Mammoth just invested in better snowmaking equipment! More snow coming in a few more days!
