  1. This is serious. Massive economic impact on commerce. I heard six workers patching potholes perished in the bridge collapse.
  2. Expect Wall to Wall sunshine and wide deep blue Texas skies! We will have excellent eclipse weather for all of you who come on down here! Expect temps in the 80s and mid to upper 60s dewpoints, steady southeasterlies.
  3. Congrats all on the beneficial rain.
  4. Palisades and Mammoth are getting rocked hard by snow!
  5. And a fiery shiny new base state, monster Hadley Cells and a fooked up MJO, alongside very warm sea surface temps! I am really stoked for some decent Category 6 tropical cyclone action this fall! This could be the fall Miami gets on the proverbial chopping block, with a slow moving superheated high end Cat 5 with 245mph sustained winds in the eyewall, sporting a truly monster 40 foot storm surge coming at MIA like Jaws 18 from the SSE at 1 mph, buzzsawing hell out of Miami with millions stuck on the A1A. You know Reed Timmer and Josh Morgerman of iCyclone are both gonnabe tryin to cover that extraordinary extravaganza of a megastorm!
  6. Look out, you may get annihilated by over 20 inches of snow! Enjoy! Palisades Tahoe and Mammoth are both getting destroyed right now by snow, may pile up two feet of freshies! Plenty of refills! They are gonnabe spending a lot of time in the white room! Better strap on a snorkel!
  7. CONGRATS! Super happy and elated for you all up there! Enjoy it!
  8. Dont look now, but Jay Peak got 38 inches snow THIS week, and they got another storm incoming! https://jaypeakresort.com/skiing-riding/snow-report-maps/weather-tim-kelley Dry snow! Head for Jay! Carve us out some AWESOME turns!
  9. My preliminary snow forecast for next winter is a few inches for all stations. It's going to be mild and Nina. Even PSU will have trouble getting six inches. Tropical weather should be a blast, though.
  10. What does all this mean? Win the powerball. Move to Mammoth Mountain. Enjoy the 10 month snow season.
  11. Yeah that new base state is really warming us all up. It's a great time to be a Warminista!
  12. I am jealous. Mid Atlantic will get 3 inches of rain. All I eked out of that system was a half inch. You guys get all the luck (and all the beneficial rain).
  13. We will be clear for the eclipse.
  14. I have never been SO WRONG. It was the Nino that couldn't. My hopes were so high and now dashed. Moral of this story: Go West, young man for snow.
  15. Damn. I am brokenhearted and inconsolable.
  16. Lots of impressive storms all over TX, but the one heading for me is of course dying. Hey, at least we are consistent. I wanted that rain so damn bad I could taste it.
  17. Head to Jay Peak. https://jaypeakresort.com/skiing-riding/snow-report-maps/weather-tim-kelley Trust me. Its gonna SNOW, a LOT!
  18. JSpin on the U VT listservers - back in the day he had a memorable account about there being so much snow that he was breathing snow because of severe face shots. There was so much pow and it was still pouring, the maelstrom had dragged on all night and all the instructors were going crazy about the skiing conditions. I wubbed that listserver with all my heart! I got in trouble at work, damn near lost my job from being way too obsessed with the deep pow lmfao! OCD about pow in ski resorts has been a serious problem for me for decades. I just don't care. Never will. 5G and modern devices plus modern ultra high resolution webcams at resorts are making my worship of snow far worse, by a factor of 986 decillion. I worship snow to the utter exclusion of everything and everyone else. I am back to my high school crazies lol. No, WORSE! Especially after the EPIC 2022-2023 snow season at Palisades Tahoe !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And after seeing 125 mph winds blowing snow off a lodge roof THIS WINTER at Mammoth!!!!!!!!!! THAT PARTICULAR STORM really fanned my intense worship of cordilleran blizzards with 190 MPH WINDS!!!!!! There is nothing on earth like a Sierran Blizzard! You haven't LIVED, until you see what a good decent Sierran Blizzard does with snow! After the 2022-2023 Season at Tahoe when they got 700 inches, and after the recent Tahoe and Mammoth Blizzard where Tahoe got 39 inches and Tahoe got 8 FEET of snow, and Donner got annihilated by ELEVEN FEET of snow, I absolutely WORSHIP the Sierran snows!
  19. You wanna see a total solar eclipse. You cant go wrong in Texas. No clouds. Great eclipse viewing. Great beer. Excellent bbq and brisket. Hell, you might even decide to STAY here, the bbq and brisket are so good!
  20. That, is absolutely E-P-I-C !!
  21. Okay. It's time to own up. NWS Austin was correct about last night and I WAS DEAD BALLS WRONG! The rain at 145am did not hate Austin, we got smacked by thunder, lightning and 35 mph winds as I ended up hunkering beneath a gas station canopy for 2 and a half hours because of my LEAKY car roof! Didnt even get to do delivery. I was so damn bored I was reduced to reading sci fi PDFs on my tablet because no wifi. I never even saw that coming! It came out of Mexico literally right out of nowhere! The radar said nada at 1230am. I got demolished by rain that I declared was not coming. lmao We got an inch of rain. I didnt get back til 5am lmao.
  22. LMFAO times about 423 quadrillion!!!
  23. All the rain is moving away. Rain hates Austin like ebola. We will get used to it, because La Nina will not spare. It probably won't rain again til 2036. Goodbye most plants. Goodbye most of us too. Been really nice knowing you all.
  24. I am so happy for Sunday River getting good snows!
