    Snow picking up nicely in Altmar. I always expected the backside/lake effect snows to be the main show up this way.

    Good Morning, waking up to what looks like (eyeballing it) 3-4 inches of snow/sleet mix on the pavement in Altmar. Sitting in the dry slot now. Congrats western NY on the big numbers.

    Just an amazing day on the Tug. Whether it’s 4” or 12” from this upcoming storm, it really don’t matter. Checked out Salmon River Falls and Osceola ski today. Beautiful.

    Wow. Cool. Very nice place. Great meal last night on site. Kids love the pool and hottub.

    I don't see why backside snow can't bring 12"+ (2 day) totals to northern Wayne, Cayuga and western Oswego Co.. Even if the front side underperforms. That's basically what the RGEM has been hinting at for days.

    Wow. Hoping to take the kids to Osceola Ski Sunday before the storm. Should be much more bearable tomorrow. Honestly, looking forward to the backside snow/wind Monday up this way after the lull/dry slot potential Monday morning. We'll see what shifts occur before the onset of the event. Hopefully nothing too significant.

    Good morning guys. -12 here this morning. Nice to see a mantle of white after the winter we’ve had near Philly. Looking like a snow-mix-backside snow scenario on the Tug. We’ll see how it plays out. Looks fantastic for western NY.

    Arrived in Altmar, NY this evening. 1 degree on the car thermometer. Solid snow/ice pack. This is a rescheduled vacation from Christmas (no snow + 1 sick kid = cancel). I’ll have obs. rolling as things unfold. Didn’t have time to analyze the models much today with travel, etc. Looks like a wintry mix on tap ending with snow on the backside. Those who mix can blame me and @tombo82685for bringing the sleetfests from southeast PA.

    You could always come back to the frozen mud and scant snow piles back home here in Pennsylvania. It's a sad sight. You made the right choice relocating to upstate NY (or if you want to say northern NY). No nuked snow covers, weeks of brown in winter and weeks of chasing ghost storms.

    Thanks. That shows the progression into western Suffolk which is what I didn't see (live) before I started getting texts. That's line was impressive.

    Anyone have a radar loop across Long Island during the event yesterday? All I got was one still after family alerted me it was moving through.
