I would highly recommend getting out at night for a bit with a head lamp during these cycles. It is a magical time with the diamond dust and flakes illuminated while moving in them.
12+ at 3K, windy, wild, and welcomed, skin track refills, and honking snow when we scooted out at 1
In typical fashion, 2” at the house, but it’s coming down steady now, bless the NW winds
37F with intermittent rain showers thus far
I could careless here at 1080’, looking forward to 2K adding some inches and getting out for some downhill woods skiing
It had been remarkable what a dusting each day has made, the snow settled and we have had a full week of winter fun, the ice has been perfect, ski jouring has been faster each day, even the downhill turns last night were enjoyable.
Certainly making the most of 6” of snow, ever
Was going to just post this pic for a conditions update at 2400’ N of Jay...
But then found this at 2000’...
Funny what you find out there.
Nice quiet walking this morning
Spent the weekend walking the ridgeline in the distance.
Northwoods Stewardship Center did a great job working the Kingdom Heritage trail through some deep woods.
The Moose Rut is kicking in. Bumped this fella early on and spent Saturday night listening to cows calling for bulls.
It is incredibly dry, only a couple spots with running water over our 20 mile walk
