Whoa, apologies for not announcing this before. With DCA reaching freezing on 11/18, that actually gave @yoda and @MN Transplant a tie with 17 days total departure. @GramaxRefugee comes in 3rd with 18 days. But @MN Transplanthit the tiebreaker of 81F exactly right and thus is the winner! Congrats!
Thanks to everyone for making a fun and interesting contest.

I think there might have been a temperature inversion last night. Noticed the valleys were colder than the hilltops by a good 10 - 15 degrees driving into work this morning.
I seem to recall that @WxUSAF faced the same issue when looking for his first freeze last month. Might be worth looking into, but I don't like to question other observers' siting. Y'know, throwing the first stone and all that.

Ice forming on the South River. Not very common for November.

Low 18.5f
I didn't yet winterize my north facing hose bib. Just seems too early. Guess not, eh?

Already down to 25 beating my morning low. DP 12.

But DP noticeably drier today at 20. (Up to 22 now)

Made a low of 27 overnight. Coldest of the season for me.

Sandy level is weird with postal codes. We're in 24161. Rocky Mt, Gretna, Alta Vista for big box runs.
Google seems to (erroneously) think Sandy Level is on the NC border; not near Smith Mt.
After a camping trip to Smith Lake years ago, I returned by the east side because I just had to visit the dam. Turned out to be quite a detour, but worth it. At that time Applalachian Power had a visitor center there which is really good. Seems to be run by volunteers too. Just driving around the area, I really liked it.
Of course, knowing the history of the area, I felt like I should be driving around in a fast 1940 Ford with overload springs.- 1

.... A better analogue might be 1963-64.
What?! You mean the winter with 51.8" of snow at BWI?
Strangely though; if NOAA data is to be believed, the same winter had 33.6" at DCA. Significant difference, even for DCA.
Anyway, I don't see 63-64 working out for us.

Beautiful Indian Summer day out there. Much drier than the past few days; blue sky, breezy, mid/upper 70s

Another foggy morning.

Maybe all the moisture will keep the dust down for the leaf blowing/grinding.

Sterling's Fog Advisory set to expire at 10:00am. I don't know how well it's clearing around the region, but here in Annapolis it's still plenty thick. Our survey crew has waited a little to go out; expecting it to be good by now.
We'll just see, I guess.

Very Foggy in parts of AACo.
Coworker in Bowie said he couldn't see traffic lights at a couple of intersections.

Monthly total 5.29"
Lowest temp 32f on the 19th; highest 75 on the 7th.
Fairly early freeze date for my station. I notice 2015 was 31 on the same date.

Near constant drizzle here since Sunday afternoon. But probably less than 1/2" total so far.

low of 20f
South River frozen (more or less) bank-to-bank at our little tributary. Just skim ice which will melt fast, but still quite wintery.
