  1. Good, so you know where it is…
  2. 1.22” total melted in the stratus. I was also surprised at the amount of water at the bottom of the snow as I cleared it this morning.
  3. My son did two years up there and loved it. He was chuckling out at South Bend last week when they picked up a few inches of lake effect and some thought it was like a blizzard.
  4. Well I didn’t mean to urge, I respect everyone has a different approach to weather. I promise you I don’t look at the euro in the middle of the night but will in the morning, along with the other models. We have some very good posters who provide great info that we can learn from. That said, especially when we have a storm to track, posters come out of the woodwork and there’s some terrible IMBY poor interpretations. I just try to learn a little more each day.
  5. Glad it over performed on snow but under on the wind. We all know wind gust maps are overdone but the 0z NAM last night really caught my atttion but thankfully it was really out to lunch at least around here.
  6. A real heat attack overperformer around here for sure, 6.5” at the stake. This is a solid base to build on, this isn’t melting overnight.
  7. 0 was indeed the low here. Todays model runs appear to be just a touch cooler with more frozen precipitation so it’ll be interesting to see how it plays out for folks in this thread.
  8. I remember that freezing rain you had, wild stuff.
  9. Yeah, first I’ve never heard of that. I’ve had the house creak and pop on real cold nights. I’ve heard the ice on the Wallkill pop, that’ll get your attention, but frost quake is a first for me but was an interesting little read this morning. Sitting right at 0 now.
  10. I believe that mine is 5 minutes too. You mentioned the terrain before so I’m wondering what impact that may have had here.
  11. I’ll have to check my station too, what time did you see it on yours? I see a dip, besides when looking in a mirror, around 12pm on my station.
  12. I’m kinda surprised although I shouldn’t be at the number of folks that can’t fathom the huge swing in temps coming up.
  13. Got down to 6, wind is relatively calm here. The models did a good job picking up on that IMBY I get the assist after setting you up, as is tradition. That said, watch it, we are both in our 40’s there Chet…for the next five months anyway…LOL
  14. I was a senior in college then, probably my favorite winter.
  15. I lean more towards let’s see what actually happens. I was never one to stay up late to wait on models runs in the middle of the night. As you point out, to each their own.
  16. Oh I had her laughing, it was something else. She had cabbage and noodles for lunch that her father had made her and I text her parents “NO MORE CABBAGE AND NOODLES!” It was all in good fun.
  17. I wasn’t happy with the winds from my wife last night… So you come here first? Interesting, I look at the models first.
