  1. And I should have been more clear, the half inch is used for rounding purposes only, depth is recorded to the inch.
  2. Its true that the max snow depth will nearly always be less than the snowfall but there are too many variables to take a guess at the depth.
  3. For those playing at home, keep in mind that snow depth is not measured in tenths but rounded to the nearest half inch so if CP is keeping records I'm sure he has the snow depth for today as 9". @BxEngineyou understand?
  4. If I had done that today I would've easily doubled my snowfall
  5. It’s a great snowfall here but it’s also 33 degrees so it’s not piling up for me like one would think if there saw these rates and flake size.
  6. Lots of silver dollar sized flakes today
  7. Moderate to heavy snow around Middletown/Montgomery the past couple hours, roads just wet. A couple degrees cooler...what might have been.
  8. Just 6 miles to my NE 5.6” earlier this morning, 7am report there
  9. The colors on Central Hudson’s power outage map are starting to pile up quickly too
  10. That makes sense to me for you as well. There's still time for this to go either way. You being further north and east is a plus this time I believe.
  11. I'm thinking 3-6" for the OC, with the higher elevations maybe getting the 6". It'll be interesting to see just how this plays out.
  12. We all saw you successfully use not only the quote option but the multi-quote earlier and now you're back to this^^^? I'm beginning to wonder what you have leafing out down there.
  13. While weenies are concerned with what the various 10:1 snow maps show falling on their head one thing I think many aren’t realizing is the relatively long period of winds with some decent gusts. It certainly will feel like winter for a couple days.
  14. The NYC "Metro" chapter has been meeting for years and years now...
  15. The CoCoRaHS reporter out near Port Jervis, clearly on the mountain, coming in with 8.3 while the reporter closer to me up near Walden has 2.2
  16. 1.6" on the board with light snow falling.
  17. 1.6" on the board, 33 degrees, which is also the low thus far, with light snow.
  18. It is encouraging that I'm all snow now, didn't expect that but we'll see
  19. Those maps were damn near spot on for the flip to all snow here a little while ago.
  20. The Google traffic maps are a decent indicator of where its snowing, at least where it's affecting the roads.
  21. #3 son lives in Milford now at 1350'. He's eyeballing a half inch and it's stopped at the moment. I need to teach him about eyeball measuring...
  22. Been there, done that, over a shorter distance. No fun but it is what it is when it does.
