  1. The core that I took from the 24 hour board with 13.6” on it melted down to 1.56”, note that by this point there had been a notable change in the flakes by the time I took the core. Another 4.1” on the boards this morning so by using the cleared board measuring method I got 19.5”. Using the measuring every 24 hours method it’s 17.7” but after all that there was a total of 15.5” on the ground when I measured this morning at 7:30am. This is a classic illustration IMO of how snowfall measuring is by far the least accurate weather record.
  2. My 2:30pm measurement should’ve been at 1:30pm, the only excuse I have is that I’m a dumbass but I digress. 7:30pm: -13.6” in the last 24 hours on the uncleared board (it’s cleared now) and I’m melting down a core sample from that board. -The measurement on the board I cleared last at 2:30pm was 7.4” so the cumulated total from that board is 15.4”. -14.8” OTG which includes the leftovers from last week.
  3. Another long week of tracking. If you see my uncle who lives on Jefferson Ave say hello for me.
  4. I think a screenshot works better than a screencap...was I just hashtagging?
  5. Yep, Grade A powder thankfully. I’ll melt down a core sample tonight when I clear both boards at 7:30pm, the one because it will be 6 hours and the other because it’ll be 24 hours.
  6. The wind out there reminds me of the March 2017 blizzard, I can hear it howling through the woods, good stuff.
  7. I have spots like that too, blown completely clean. My boards are out in middle of the yard but nothing is immune from the wind today.
  8. As of 2:30pm I had 8.5” OTG but I still had snow from last weekend that’s down at the bottom.
  9. 2:30pm measurements Uncleared board: 7.2” Cleared board: 3.7” plus the 4.3” from 6 hours ago making a total of 8”. Dumping snow right now with gusty winds
  10. Liking the Euro for the weekend, deep winter.
  11. I gave The Weather Channel a shot again a couple of months ago when there’s a storm around, good to see Jeff Morrow back. I don’t know how long he’s been back but it reminds me of the old days.
  12. Very good and hey...hey...let’s be careful out there.
  13. As of 7:30am I had 4.3” on both boards but the wind has clearly already had an effect on the snow in the yard as it’s wonderful powder.
  14. @hudsonvalley21 and anyone else interested, I’m working remote this week so I’ll be home for the storm. I have my two snow boards near each other. I’m going to measure and clear one every 6 hours or so, ain’t getting up in the middle of the night for this shit, and I’ll measure and clear once every 24 hours until it’s over on the other board.
  15. Upton just updated to 18-24” here and gusts to 35 mph
  16. Maybe because they haven’t released their afternoon package? It’s only a matter of time.
  17. And the Euro says let’s do this again for the Super Bowl, LOL. Another long week of tracking ahead? Maybe.
  18. That dry slot on the 12z Euro just reminded how the dry slot in March 17 kept me at ‘only’ 18”
  19. March 7th I recorded 12.1”, wasn’t that one. I see it was March 2nd, I had 1.2”. My notes say “snow at dawn changed to rain and flipped back and forth, back to snow in the afternoon but stuck in between bands, central and eastern Orange missed out while other areas got rocked”
  20. I got caught in that weird downsloping in March 18, eastern PA got crushed and it was a very run of the mill light snowstorm here. That sucked!
