Now that western countries are getting caught up with testing protocols (South Korea has been in the forefront of proactive testing and their mortality rate is barely 0.5%), you'll see a lot more cases, yet the same amount of deaths, significantly dropping the mortality rate to a more seasonal flu-like level. Heck, when you exclude the nursing home in Washington (which has had documented problems in the past dealing with flu outbreaks there), the death rate here is 0.4%, and we have barely even started testing anyone.

Yes, this paranoia will actually help slow the spread of the seasonal flu.

Imagine if the seasonal flu carried this much panic and paranoia. People would never leave their houses.

Looks like a pretty snow-less first half of March for NE Colorado

My max wind gust was 45. Made for some near whiteout conditions as the snow squalls came further west than expected.

Well that storm turned out to be a bust.

Here just SE of Denver, we're up to about 57" of snow on the year. Right on track. The central CO mountains have gotten hit pretty hard.

I got about a half inch. That killer squall line got to just about my back yard and fizzled out.

It snowed for a good 8 hours IMBY but only got about an inch or so.

And "the next one" has turned into an overachiever

This storm was generally a bust. Hopefully the next one comes through.

GFS lost the NW Colorado storm the last two runs

Some bizarre (to me) weather out here in Colorado. 42 degrees, a random thunderstorm popped up and the biggest graupel I've ever seen is raining down. It's like raining Dippin Dots.

GFS has had a nice snowstorm next Thursday for the northeastern part of Colorado on its last 4 runs

Some boring weather the last 6-8 weeks in NE Colorado

I was looking (not on my own free will mind you) at some old scrap books from past Christmases during the holidays. In the mid-80s I think there's a note in the scrap book that it was in the 60s on Christmas. This was central PA. Hardly anything new.

Seems like wind-blown snow will be a bigger issue than falling snow for most.

GFS has been pretty consistent the last 4 runs. If it ends up wrong, it'll go down swinging

Yeah the GFS has been taking the snow well south of the Denver metro area the last couple runs

Plains look pretty dry the rest of the year
