  1. Right, but that isn't necessarily here in America
  2. Is there evidence that 20% of cases need hospitalization here in America?
  3. Probably another 10-14 days before it hits it peak in America, judging by how long it took China and Korea to level out
  4. The CDC raised similar concerns back in the Swine Flu days. None of which came close to fruition and not nearly as much was done then to stop the spread.
  5. And those kids are going to be less likely to be washing their hands while out playing/hanging with friends as they would at school
  6. Shutting down the schools will cause a spike, too. Because now instead of kids giving it to kids, they're going to give it to their parents/aunts/uncles/grandparents/older neighbors since not all parents can just take off work to watch their kids.
  7. China is already back in business. Italy is the new ground zero with Spain not far behind. Then the USA is another week or two behind them to hit their peak
  8. Much like the Swine Flu, people are rushing to get tested for any symptom. That's clogging ERs.
  9. The Denver area March snow hole continues. Looks like our March snow came in October
  10. So in 2 weeks they're going to go from 5000 cases to 4 million?
  11. Now that western countries are getting caught up with testing protocols (South Korea has been in the forefront of proactive testing and their mortality rate is barely 0.5%), you'll see a lot more cases, yet the same amount of deaths, significantly dropping the mortality rate to a more seasonal flu-like level. Heck, when you exclude the nursing home in Washington (which has had documented problems in the past dealing with flu outbreaks there), the death rate here is 0.4%, and we have barely even started testing anyone.
  12. Yes, this paranoia will actually help slow the spread of the seasonal flu.
  13. Imagine if the seasonal flu carried this much panic and paranoia. People would never leave their houses.
  14. Looks like a pretty snow-less first half of March for NE Colorado
  15. My max wind gust was 45. Made for some near whiteout conditions as the snow squalls came further west than expected.
  16. Model wars going on with this eastern Colorado storm. Very different solutions only 24 hours out
  17. Here just SE of Denver, we're up to about 57" of snow on the year. Right on track. The central CO mountains have gotten hit pretty hard.
  18. I got about a half inch. That killer squall line got to just about my back yard and fizzled out.
  19. It snowed for a good 8 hours IMBY but only got about an inch or so.
  20. And "the next one" has turned into an overachiever
  21. This storm was generally a bust. Hopefully the next one comes through.
  22. I moved here from the snow plagued mid atlantic in August. You can blame me
  23. GFS lost the NW Colorado storm the last two runs
