After 15 years living in the DMV, now 5 years living in the high plains desert in Colorado, I am not looking forward to all that humidity when I fly in tomorrow.
Some juicy stuff in afternoon round 1, but it missed me by a couple miles. We'll see if round 2 gives me anything.
But after this morning I'm fine if I don't
Not often I wake up to early morning hail storms in Colorado. Had a few at 1.5" or so, maybe bigger since it was a little bit before I could get outside to measure them.
Happened again today. Nice storm, drifting northwest. I'm about 10 miles as the crow flies from Kiowa. By the time the storm got to me, it was sprinkles.
And another one 5 miles north of me that I didn't even realize happened until yesterday. There was some buzz about lack of a warning for it since it started as a landspout and by the time NWS got any radar or human eyes on it, it was too late.
The trailing edge of the precip is about to come through my area. HRRR says it rains the rest of the day, but radar isn't backfilling further east so maybe we get a lull for a while
Pretty nice hail storm today, mostly pea sized, a few in the half inch range.
Radar indicated tornado right down the road, but I don't think anything came of it from what my mostly untrained eyes saw
