  1. Arizona numbers are getting pretty high and quickly. 2,392 cases on 9,062 PCR tests for a positivity rate of 26.3%. Positivity rate was averaging in the 6-7% range several weeks ago. https://ktar.com/story/3284314/arizona-reports-single-day-high-2392-new-coronavirus-cases/
  2. What we all have to look forward to when everything goes back to normal. I wonder if the AC aiding in spreading the virus around example from China relates to this . We really need a vaccine. I bet we see lots of examples of this happening the next few months and quite a few places will likely have to shut down again before being cleared to reopen. Woman, 15 friends test positive for coronavirus after night out at Lynch’s https://www.news4jax.com/news/local/2020/06/15/woman-15-friends-test-positive-for-coronavirus-after-night-out-at-lynchs/
  3. Was a little late to the party and every single NYS DEC campground is booked solid for the rest of the year. I was able to snag 1 of 3 tent sites in the high peaks region for Aug. 12-16. Let me know if anyone wants to hike a few peaks!
  4. Just checked All trails app and everyone reported snow on the peaks over the weekend. A fun hike despite the rain and cold temperatures. At the summit it was snowing, and the views were non-existent thanks to cloud cover. Also, a very human-looking pile of feces was in the middle of one of the paths on the summit. The climb down was greatly enhanced by the company of the best trail guide ever, Patrice the dog. So points off for bad weather, no views and poop, but full recovery thanks to dogs. For a shorter trail in the high peaks, Giant and RPR were quite challenging. 6/13/20 Left at 6:45 AM, plenty of parking, and finished around 2 PM. The first two miles have about 2,000 foot elevation gain, after that it doesn’t let up. Got to summit of Giant at 10:00 and it was snowing. Glad to have packed two coats, hat and gloves! Super beautiful. Rocky peak is only 1.2 miles further, but round trip added 2 hours for us due to the scramble down Giant being a very steep, slippery and technical hike. Wasn’t super crowded so it was a good choice of a hike during COVID. Total for us was 8.2 miles. All in all happy to cross off two more gorgeous peaks!
  5. From my understanding there are only 2 months in which you don't get snow in the Adirondack High Peaks. July and August. I've been there in September and seen snow and just came back in May in which there was tons of snow. I've never seen it in June, It has to be pretty rare.
  6. I would like to take the antibody test too. Where can I get this in around Hamburg?
  7. Yeah I have both. One for real fire on the lawn and this one now for the deck.
  8. Picked up one of these for the backyard deck. Anyone here have one? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01JJDNWHQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  9. Yeah it's definitely a process. Replaced a few boards and exoxy a few more small spots. Wife is going to be staining today as shes still furloughed.
  10. In the process of power washing, sanding, and staining my deck. Despite lots of energy I am still cold. Summer returns next week!
  11. Why don't you get a 2nd thermostat installed upstairs? Is it expensive to do that?
  12. After a brief cooldown this weekend we go back to mid summer weather next week. Monday Sunny, with a high near 76. Tuesday Mostly sunny, with a high near 80. Wednesday Mostly sunny, with a high near 83. Thursday Mostly sunny, with a high near 85. Friday Mostly sunny, with a high near 83.
  13. Yeah I do not have AC currently, except a window unit for my bedroom. But I am getting it installed this year, its only $2500 for the entire house. I've never had AC living at home or when I moved out. When it's really warm at night I just splash water on my face and put a fan on. My old apartment used to be 80+ at night, it was rough.
  14. Man, this virus can really really mess your body up...it left holes in her lungs...she was in her 20s. https://apnews.com/90f342e73117fc9fa7f2b0e443d40941?utm_source=Twitter&utm_campaign=SocialFlow&utm_medium=APHealthScience
  15. Didn't you take the test back in March and test negative? But now you're positive for antibodies. These tests must be really inaccurate.
  16. 87 degrees with 69 dewpoint here right now. Line looks to be holding together.
  17. Strong line of storms near Cleveland heading this way. Models have them weakening quite a bit next few hours. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and nickel size hail.
  18. I don't know if I would be able to do my hikes without hiking shoes. Walking in winter without protection is not good for you either. I never wear shoes when it's summer though.
  19. Almost all Buffalo summers are the same. High 70s/Low 80s with high dewpoints. 90% of the days feature lots of sunshine and very little clouds due to lake Eries shadow.
  20. The beach last night. Went out with some friends for spikeball.
  21. As soon as I hit 40 I'm taking test supplements. Maybe even the unnatural kind. Arnold looks pretty good for 72.
  22. Crazy story. A friend of mine just got the antibody test results for COVID. She and her husband were both positive. They were really sick in March. She said it did feel like the typical flu but intensified, and lasted for over 10 days. Her baby was a few months old at the time and she was breastfeeding. Her son received antibodies from her while she was fighting it off, helping to prevent him from getting sick.
