  1. I take that back Buffalo is at 74 already today.
  2. Buffalo hit 74 on March 29th. Still haven't beat that yet.
  3. This is really interesting. Since the coronavirus is a similar strain to the common cold the majority of us may already be immune to it. This recent paper surprisingly demonstrated that non-exposed Covid individuals had reactive T cells to various regions of SARS-CoV2 including the spike protein. The possibility exists that prior exposure to colds caused by other coronaviruses may confer some T cell cross-reactive immunity to Covid. Some are speculating (not in this paper) those with T cell responses may be the asymptomatic people walking around. Alex Sette, the last author in this Cell paper is highly regarded in his field of epitope mapping and T cell immunology. I used to work for him. He is quite brilliant. https://www.cell.com/action/showPdf?pii=S0092-8674(20)30610-3
  4. The thing is we may never get a vaccine. It is far from a guarantee and if I had to wager a percentage I would say its more likely we don't get a vaccine, and if we do its not effective or has worst side effects then the actual virus. So we either hope for the virus to mutate into a less contagious and less deadly virus which is definitely possible as viruses are constantly mutating or we develop herd immunity. Or another possible option is develop treatment for the symptoms, a band aid to help people get through the worst symptoms.
  5. So border opens in time for July 4th you think? Around that time?
  6. Lots of juicers in Cali and Florida though. Hard to compare.
  7. No timetable given for WNY reopening https://wben.radio.com/articles/no-timetable-given-for-wny-reopening?fbclid=IwAR3R_zfRToOacIBunP46q_tJfBSaIUFIpXeuZkLt377Z5ycyDqMFkTxo9Uk
  8. @Luke_Mages New York is a pretty healthy state in comparison to most, I'm quite surprised by this. https://www.consumerprotect.com/hot-topics/worst-eating-and-exercise-habits-in-america/
  9. Gyms and fitness centers in Ohio permitted to reopen on May 26 https://www.wkyc.com/article/news/local/ohio/gyms-and-fitness-centers-in-ohio-permitted-to-reopen-on-may-26/95-57ee4e29-db5d-4ff8-81ae-fcf4ea8bd8c0?fbclid=IwAR2qjFnNp2bi8yWJDOmxpvxdPHnwpz-Fn_I62Gs536KtrTT0KjLWWaicvwU
  10. Yeah I highly doubt we get to phase 4 before Sep 1st. And then flu season starts in conjunction with COVID. We may never see an open gym again. Our only hope is what Wisconsin did. They are now fully open. https://www.cnn.com/2020/05/13/politics/wisconsin-supreme-court-strikes-down-stay-at-home-order/index.html
  11. Departure from normal for Buffalo, such a crazy year. Dec-Mar 2020 has to be one of the largest departures ever recorded. May: -1.5 June: -1.1 July: +2.9 Aug: +.7 Sep: + 3.0 Oct: +1.5 Nov: -4.9 Dec: +3.2 Jan: +8.1 Feb: +3.1 Mar: +7.3 April: -2.5 12 month Average: +1.65
  12. The real warmth looks delayed but I think it still comes.
  13. https://www.news-press.com/story/sports/2020/05/13/coronavirus-florida-ron-desantis-mlb-nba-nfl-nhl-mls/5185586002/
  14. Models have really been SOOO terrible. The warm up looks muted now. Looks like average temps the next 2 weeks which isn't terrible. Should be around 65-70 for highs. As long as get some sun it will feel nice. However, it looks like it will be an active pattern.
  15. The antibodies should protect them based on my research unless the virus mutates. As we know the flu virus mutates quite a bit year over year. We do not know what's coming in Fall. What if we have a 2017-2018 flu season in conjunction with a rapid spread of COVID?....We have to prepare for the worst.
  16. My buddy got featured on the news. The first couple. https://www.newscentermaine.com/video/news/maine-wedding-industry-hit-hard-by-covid19-restrictions/97-b5f6a28c-c501-4069-abc8-276717096ad8
  17. Largest college enrollment in the country has already closed until January 2021. https://abc7.com/csu-fall-classes-cal-state-university-system-canceled-in-person/6176291/
  18. I mean we are already seeing it. The republican states are opening up much quicker than the democratic states. There is going to be extreme divide. The first punch thrown from Biden.
  19. Just in time to get to level 4 and the flu season starts in conjunction with COVID. My hope is that once we reopen everything, there is no way the country shuts down for a second time. Well unless the country wants to give another 5+ trillion in stimulus money. There is also a massive election in November. No way trump keeps things closed down for his rally's and the republican governors will listen to whatever he says in order to get re-elected. As the states control the openings I think the democratic governors will keep things locked down for a longer period of time to show Trump he was wrong wanting states to reopen. There will be a direct divide between blue and red states and cases of covid/deaths/etc...Going to be an insane end of 2020.
  20. It's still quite dumb, they should have a target number to hit not a 3 day rolling average. Hospitalizations are down 43 in the last week. There are going to be many blips during the next few months, especially as we start to open up the state. We will have many 3 days in which go above average, especially as we get into the single digits of hospitalizations. What if 3 days we go from 99, 98, 97 to 100, 101, 102...We restart the 14 day countdown?
  21. Erie county is never going to open. You have to have 14 day decline in hospitalizations. Now we have to restart at a much lower number which will make it even harder. It should be a percentage, not a set number. At this rate hospitalizations go up from 100 to 101 you have to wait another 2 weeks and resets the counter? That is literally the dumbest thing I've ever heard of. So because 9 more people got hospitalized almost 1 million people have to wait another 2 weeks to open...?
