  1. So explain the 95 deaths? Their stay at home orders are nearly the same as ours. Have a friend that lives in Adelaide. Feb-April here is equivalent to August to October here. August to October here is quite warm compared to the latter.
  2. Wolf you're in a legit perfect spot. You get pounded in winter, retain snow, and get solid warm/sunny summers. Pretty close to towns/cities too, 20 or so minutes?
  3. Australia has 25 million people and only 95 deaths. I believe sun and warmth kills this thing quick. https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/australia/
  4. Only 300 new hospitalizations from Fri-Sat, it's going down quicker than I thought. Once the real warmth gets here I believe it will go down even quicker. https://covidtracking.com/data/state/new-york
  5. 20 degree disparity over the course of very few miles. I would highly prefer Syracuse over Watertown if I lived around there.
  6. Found my answer, love reddit The "recent drop" in U.S. pneumonia deaths is actually an always-present lag in reporting https://preview.redd.it/112zudxyqrr41.gif?format=mp4&s=9f04aa55a4658ddbb14350af64f0591fc4d7979c
  7. Yeah I used to mountain bike there a lot back in the day, haven't been in awhile though.
  8. Social distancing is pretty much done here. Chestnut ridge had about half of erie countys population at it earlier today. Luckily I have a secret trail no one knows about where I can walk freely with my dog and no one else.
  9. Numbers declining quite rapidly in NYS. Would be surprised if Cuomo extends pass May 15th.
  10. The CDC just posted this on their FB page. Wonder if Trump forced them to? He has 6 months until election time, can't have a pandemic going on during that time. Wouldn't look good on him. According to the latest CDC COVIDView report, increases in hospitalization rates for COVID-19, which are cumulative, have started to level off. The hospitalization rate is highest among adults 65 and older and similar to what has been seen during a comparable time period during a recent high severity flu season: https://bit.ly/2ViFflZ

  12. Interesting https://blogs.scientificamerican.com/observations/comparing-covid-19-deaths-to-flu-deaths-is-like-comparing-apples-to-oranges/ In the last six flu seasons, the CDC’s reported number of actual confirmed flu deaths—that is, counting flu deaths the way we are currently counting deaths from the coronavirus—has ranged from 3,448 to 15,620, which far lower than the numbers commonly repeated by public officials and even public health experts.
  13. You need a Vietnam, New Zealand level lockdown to completely get rid of this. What the USA has isn't even a lockdown. Literally nothing in my day to day life has changed besides the gym and haircuts. Vietnam has gone six days with no new coronavirus infections and 15 days without community transmission. https://e.vnexpress.net/news/news/vietnam-reports-no-new-covid-19-cases-for-seven-days-4092617.html
  14. This virus is highly contagious and we cannot wait for a vaccine. We are screwed either way.
  15. Georgia verifies 1K new COVID-19 cases in 24 hours https://www.ajc.com/news/breaking-news/breaking-georgia-verifies-new-covid-cases-hours/LqtzhH5mSQvSvkHIJsUxCI/
  16. Nearly 900 workers at Tyson meat plant in Indiana test positive for coronavirus The coronavirus infected 890 of the 2,200 people at the plant located in Logansport, Ind., local station WISH TV reported Wednesday. https://thehill.com/homenews/news/495564-nearly-900-workers-at-tyson-meat-plant-in-indiana-test-positive-for-coronavirus
  17. Uh oh. Trump is not going to take fondly to this. My biggest fear on this planet is going to war with China. Chinese state media releases animated propaganda video mocking US coronavirus response https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-05-01/china-state-media-propaganda-video-mock-us-coronavirus/12204836

  20. Jeez 107 fever...I thought anything over 105 causes permanent brain damage. I had a 104 fever in Peru, and was crawling on the floor. I cannot even imagine 107 https://www.mlive.com/coronavirus/2020/05/michigan-toddler-who-spiked-107-fever-finally-covid-19-free-after-nightmare-month.html
