  1. There doesn’t need to be a study. I’m sure there is one. But I don’t enjoy lifting at home like the gym. My entire social group was developed here. We all love health and pushing each other to be better. This place saved me from a pretty dark place in the past.
  2. This setup would cost me quite a bit during Covid. Weights are so overpriced right now. I would need like $10k for my gym. I worked out at home until Gyms open. I do a lot of outdoor running and sports but I love lifting weights. It’s my anxiety/stress cure.
  3. It's rough going from work all day with a mask to the gym and wearing one. I cannot wait for the day I can throw that thing away for good. After my gym session, its dripping in sweat. That can't be healthy. I also just got done being sick with the flu or some other type of virus for the last 2 weeks.
  4. The virus won't be completely eradicated and will likely be with us forever as most coronaviruses are. The Spanish flu strain is still with us today. https://www.history.com/news/1918-flu-pandemic-never-ended However, I believe for the US between Vaccinations and Infections, we will be at herd immunity come summertime. Cases will be extremely low and hospitalizations/deaths should be drastically decreased to the point where life can get back to normal. Even this extremely conservative administration said so today. I do believe it will take awhile for the rest of the world to get this under control. The US are front runners with the vaccine administration. Vaccine push working to keep COVID-19 deaths down in US, White House believes | WFLA 'The White House Task Force said things could be “back to normal” by the 4th of July, but only if Americans continue to get vaccinated and keep up coronavirus precautions.'
  5. I agree, but the full FDA approval would most likely be based on the initial vaccine given, any other boosters would likely need further authorization? In all my research it seems the variants are not that far off from the original strain and any infection if it does happen results in minimal issues. In my opinion the media is fear mongering with the variants causing an entire new wave of covid. This virus is toast come summertime.
  6. You're right. Initial reports suggested that the vaccines didn't fair too well against the SA variant in particular. There have been a few studies done with the Brazilian one showing similar efficacy to the original strain. The data is obviously limited as these variants are so new. The results are based on lab studies and not real world data. https://www.biospace.com/article/covid-news-pfizer-biontech-vaccine-effective-against-brazilian-variant-molecular-partners-novartis-antiviral-drug-safe-in-early-trial/ https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2021/03/09/coronavirus-covid-live-updates-us/
  7. Its 91% for the Brazilian and the same efficacy vs UK as original strain which was 95% but after further review with 6 months of data it is now also 91%. That's what we know so far. https://www.cnbc.com/2021/04/01/pfizer-covid-vaccine-is-91percent-effective-in-updated-data-protective-against-south-african-variant.html
  8. Pfizer is eyeing full FDA approval pretty soon. The pair’s mRNA vaccine is 91.3% effective against symptomatic COVID-19 disease as measured in people who have been immunized with the second dose of the shot for up to six months, the companies said Thursday. The new efficacy data, plus a safety analysis comprising data from more than 12,000 people who were fully immunized for at least six months, allow the companies to file a drug application with the FDA to turn the shot’s emergency use authorization into a full approval, Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla, Ph.D., said in a statement. The efficacy level is slightly down from the 95% number the vaccine first posted in the trial. With those data, Pfizer secured an FDA emergency use authorization in December. Since that initial analysis, more COVID-19 cases have accrued, increasing to 927 as of March 13 from the previous 170. Of the total cases, investigators recorded 850 in the placebo group compared with 77 in the vaccine cohort. Thirty-two severe COVID-19 cases were recorded, all in the placebo group, translating into a 100% efficacy against severe disease for the vaccine. https://www.fiercepharma.com/pharma/pfizer-biontech-eye-official-covid-19-vaccine-nod-as-efficacy-stands-strong-including
  9. Full FDA approval should give more people the confidence in getting the vaccine.

  12. Today is day 16 and I'm still coughing up mucus, but feel much better. I get my Pfizer shot tomorrow at 1, hopefully no complications.
  13. Keep em coming! Welcome to the new normal my friend.
  14. Deaths have never stopped falling
  15. My buddy is still skiing at Holimont. Crazy that yesterday you could ski with 80 degree temps.
  16. We will see a slight plateau increase the next 2/3 weeks or so before a rapid decline in all metrics according to most models. Current projections of 609,172 deaths by July 1st. https://covid19.healthdata.org/united-states-of-america?view=total-deaths&tab=trend
  17. Buffalo is the Miami of the north, we always torch in S/SW winds ahead of lows with the downsloping.
  18. Buffalo was 84/50 yesterday for a +24 average. We are +5.1 for April.
  19. Official high of 84 at KBUF. Average high is 52. Broke the record by 9 degrees. Crazy.
  20. Official high of 84 today, average high is 52. Broke the record by 9 degrees!
  21. Fair point. I don't disagree in that people shouldn't cheat, but when push comes to shove I believe most just want to get that slip of paper and move on.
  22. Of course. Most people take the easy way out if given the opportunity. That's especially true in college, where you're paying to get a degree. Can you imagine not cheating and failing and still paying $40k for not getting your Bachelors degree.
  23. 83, shattered the record, chance at 85?
