  1. We've had some pretty big events in November. Nov. 2019 had a large synoptic storm on Nov 10-12th with over a foot over most of WNY. Nov 14-16 2018 also had a pretty big event across most of WNY/Upstate with 6-15" across the area. Nov 2020 was quite warm.
  2. Average high/low Nov 1st is 53/38 and on Nov 30th its 41/29. So we don't want too much cold until the 2nd half of November to really utilize the lake temps.
  3. I went to the emergency room Saturday and had loads of test done to find out what happened. They do think it was a stone but not entirely conclusive. They referred me to a neurologist to have an MRI of my brain. They want to see what caused me to blackout like that and lose consciousness for a full minute.
  4. It's the time of year to get @rochesterdave, @CNY-LES FREAK, and @ayuud11posting again! After one of the warmest Octobers in recent memory, things look to change quite quickly this week. Temps will be well below average almost all work week as a trough delivers the first cool air of the season. There is a chance of snow from Tues night into Friday. There should be some action off the lakes all week long. We likely see our first snowflakes across lower elevations and first accumulating snowfall across the higher terrain. NWS mentions thunder possible A longwave trough will mature over the eastern half of Canada Monday night through most of the week, with the base of the trough extending down through the Great Lakes and New England. At the surface, low pressure will remain parked over northern Quebec Monday night through Tuesday before moving off into the North Atlantic Wednesday, maintaining moist cyclonic flow across the Great Lakes. A series of shortwaves and surface troughs will cross the eastern Great Lakes, with each one enhancing synoptic scale moisture, ascent, and convergence. Lake induced equilibrium levels will rise from 10K feet Monday night to about 15K feet Tuesday, then rise further to over 20K feet Tuesday night into Wednesday as the core of coldest air aloft crosses the eastern Great Lakes. This will support a good chance of thunder at times in the stronger bands off both lakes. Following this week it looks like we go back above average into mid month as a Pacific dominant flow comes back once again. The revised temp map for November shows an above average month. As we look further ahead we look to have a weak/moderate La Nina which should feature an earlier than normal start to winter and a quicker end. The EPS weeklies If I had a guess we have a cold first week, warm week 2 into week 3 and we eventually start to cool back down towards end of November into December. Since we haven't had 3 straight below normal years in a row I'll go slightly above normal snowfall and slightly above average temps for this upcoming winter. Look forward to this forum getting more active and for us to finally have a real Northeast Winter! So that @TugHillMattdoesn't move away on us. May the wind direction forever be in your favor.
  5. Awesome stuff. What was traveling there like? What covid tests did you have to take?
  6. This type of pattern would be pretty decent a month from now. First 2 weeks of November are usually a waste for lower elevations if the cold air gets here too early. Lets hope last 2 weeks we can get it.
  7. The 3KM really pins down highest elevations south of Buffalo, just the hilltops some 6" totals up there.
  8. Top of Mardi Gras Holiday valley looks like a good spot for next week. Bet they get a few inches. 2300' at the top. For Lake Ontario I think Carols place looks good.
  9. Yeah there will definitely be accumulating snow in the higher elevations this upcoming week. Maybe even LES advs for highest elevations.

  11. No blood, the urine was very dark yesterday morning. I’ll see if I can do that. Still somewhat difficult to go. Takes a few seconds to get it going.
  12. Has anyone ever passed any kidney stones? I was going to the bathroom this morning and had intense pain. I passed out and was unconscious for over a minute on the ground and then my wife said I had convulsions for 1-2 minutes after. I slowly came back to consciousness. It felt like I died and came back to life lol. Almost fell down the staircase. Was in urgent care most of the day running tests. They think it was kidney stones. The pain was so severe it caused me to pass out. The first things that came to my mind was kidney stone, UTI, or Kidney infection. They wanted me to go to ER but didn't go as they are so understaffed everywhere and with the strikes. Also, felt better after this morning. Been drinking cranberry juice all day, man that sucked. It still hurts to go to the bathroom. No pains in my abdomen at all. Anyone ever experience this? Either way I'm so done with 2021, by far the worst health year of my life. I go to the gym 3 days a week and play volleyball/hockey 2 other days and eat relatively healthy. I also hike/walk all the time. Getting old sucks.
  13. I think we see a cool first week of November, followed by a mid month warmup
  14. Yesterday was 60/42. KBUF average for Oct is 60.8 so far through the 27th. 4 days left. Going to be close but I don't think we finish 1st, most likely 2nd/3rd. 1 60.5 1900
  15. What was KBUFS low temp overnight? Definitely a hard freeze here had to use scrapper to clear my windshield this morning.
  16. During the install they accidentally cut the fiber optics fios wire and now we have no internet. Wife works from home so working at library next few days. I’m telling you this fence is cursed. They are doing a good job otherwise on the install.
