  1. Owen Power with 3 goals in world juniors yesterday. First that thats ever been done by Canadian dman in WJ. Dahlin/Powers should be a good combo on the Sabres for next decade.
  2. Melt away. I'll be creating a new and improved thread later this week after this warmup. It snowed lightly all morning here, pretty wintry.
  3. In 2012 I could have opened my pool in March. I'd take that again. Floating in March would be a first.
  4. That's a complicated setup with 2 systems forming. Good luck to all the Mets this week.
  5. It's still possible we get cutters with colder air behind. But its 100% better than the pattern we've been in which virtually guarantees no snow. If you tell me we're going to get a January with temps 1-2 degrees below normal with 40 degree lakes I'm going to say we get above normal snowfall for the month. Just hoping to get a few ski sessions in next month. Holiday has been struggling.
  6. We should all be happy that we're going to lose that insane -6 STD persistent PNA
  7. These temp values in our coldest month equates to guaranteed snowfall with wide open warm lakes. I doubt we get cold and dry with 40-44 degree lakes. Anything is possible but that would be quite rare.
  8. Well to be fair the next 5 days is 40s so they don't really count. The pattern change doesn't start until new years.
  9. Euro is by far the best model still as evident from its long range forecast compared to others so far this year.
  10. With that gradient pattern, someone will be getting a big storm in that Jan 2-4 timerange.
  11. 180 hr OP models, its fun to post them with hot dogs but they shouldn't be taken seriously.
  12. Every forum has to have their warm lover. Me and @Syrmax have volunteered to play our part. Sizzlemas was awesome.
  13. The GFS would turn our winter around in a hurry. It features a 20" snowstorm for all and then an epic LES event east/northesat of the lakes.
  14. That SE ridge looks to be there all winter. Its typical in Ninas, but not that stout. Its definitely acting like a La Nina and a strong one at that.
  15. @SouthBuffaloSteve Now might be a good time to call out KBUF on its higher than normal readings with all the data you've accumulated. 2020 in Rochester doesn't even make the top 10, but its Buffalos 2nd warmest on record. One of the 2 stations is reading incorrect. Watertown is kind of middle of the road with temps with both 2020 and 2021 showing up.
  16. With all that said I still think January is going to be rockin!
