Maggie Valley Steve

After the massive leaf dump over the weekend, I spent the day getting the leaves blown and burning in the firepit before the light rain moved in behind the front. I cannot remember the last time there was such a huge dump in a 60 hour period of a wide variety of trees. Last year I was still cleaning up Poplar leaves Thanksgiving week. This year everything seemed to drop all at once. Looks like Tube World is trying for an opening this Saturday! Cataloochee should start making snow tomorrow. They are hoping for a Thanksgiving opening up on the slopes.

We hit peak in the Valley yesterday. Still a bit of green on Buck Mountain, that will be done before the weekend is finished.

Nothing better than a warm fire on a cool Fall evening!

We had about 10 minutes of pea sized hail in Maggie this afternoon. Rain began yesterday evening and it's still raining in the Valley. I've got .65 in the gauge so far. We are still about a week away from peak for the leaves here in the Valley.
