I'm in Follansbee, WV visiting my mother-in-law. Going to stay the night and spend Christmas with her tomorrow. Snowing moderately here. Looks like a fun night snow watching here. WSW here for 5 to 8 inches.

Latest advisory cut the snow total down a little but added freezing rain and sleet to the mix. Has the changeover to all snow not until after midnight locally.

That's what I'm hoping we get as well. I don't think the snow will last long once the front moves through, but it may be a very heavy burst of snow that gives us a few quick inches. Typically these changeover scenarios don't work out for us. Usually, it's maybe a dusting or half inch on the backend and we're done. I'm hoping this will be different with more wraparound moisture off of the low riding up the front.

About 9.75" it looks like. My very professional yardstick measurement. Lol

Yeah, I remember when you were "BethelParkSnowNut". I grew up in Westmoreland County then I moved to this area back in 1998 after I met my wife and she lived in South Park at the time. Lived there and Bethel for 21 years with her until she passed away last year. I thought about moving since but I like it here so I'm still here for now. Yeah, I'd like to meet sometime whenever you're in the area.

I cleared my truck off and took a short jaunt down Library Road to Rite Aid. I live a half mile away if that. Library was in bad shape.

Yep. I'll take it, especially since I don't have to drive in it today. Two good snowfalls before the winter season officially begins. Not bad.

Thank you. I really appreciate that. I'm not going to lose sleep or get all emotional over this hobby anymore. I've been through too much to let a missed or disappointing storm bother me, but I do want to get some enjoyment out of it again and do some tracking again. Whatever happens happens.

Well, I haven't posted here in a while, but trying to get back into the hobby again. Losing my wife last year messed with me in so many ways, but I'm trying to find joy in my old hobbies again and this was definitely one of them. Anyway, I've been checking out the models today and I do like our trend as of now. Definitely an advisory event and trending toward hopefully a WSW. Last winter was a complete dud. Not that I cared personally as I just wasn't into it, but maybe this winter will be a little better for us. Already one good event so far and the possibility of another before winter officially begins. Anyway, missed you guys and missed this page.

The way this year is going, I was already considering that even before this possible storm. Lol

My girlfriend lives just north of Dallas, TX. It's snowing there and they're under a winter weather advisory. I guess I'll be moving to Texas. Lol

I haven't posted in here in a few months or so. It's been a really rough 3 months for me. My wife passed away from cancer recently so I've been kind of a mess over that. I would like to get back to posting here regularly again. I need to get back to my hobbies and need distractions. Anyway, it looks like we have an unsettled week coming up. Had some pretty good storms move through late last night. Hope we don't have a flooding repeat from a year ago. These wet summers are getting old.

Maybe we can break last year's record and go for 60 inches of rain this year.

When I said early in the week that I knew the WTOD was going to take over like it always does and screw us, especially south of Pittsburgh, that's when I should've just walked away and not looked at any model runs the rest of the week. When WE need a west shift, it NEVER happens. Yet, those to our east and even southeast, that seem to routinely get big storms every winter anymore, have things fall into place perfectly for them. It's amazing. I guess I need to move to Williamsburg, VA if I want to see a big snowstorm now. I go there once a year on vacation, may as well just move there.
