  1. Yea. Loved how they setup the course too. Challenging but nothing stupid like a US Open. Nobody lost it, Colin just went after it and won it. Chipped it in on 14 and then the drive on 16 was an all timer. If there were fans...the place would have erupted. There was a point where like 10 players were -10 and -9...it was anyone’s trophy to win. But Colin took it. Especially when he hadn’t tried to drive 16 over the first 3 rounds... It was a calculated aggressive call. Hats off.
  2. Yea. Sometimes we think our weenie world equals the general public and that’s rarely the case. We thought the forecasts were great with enough lead time but apparently the public either didin’t get the memo or shrugged it off to media hype. It’s why I always prefer to be cautious and be ready then do a TBlizz but wake up to disaster and say, “I didn’t think it would be this bad”. I pulled my kids out of daycare at 12 and the teachers thought I was drunk. Even my wife did. But then daycare sent out an alert that they were closing at 3...during the height of storm. I lost power at 315. Parents were pissed because they drove in dangerous conditions as the winds whipped and trees came down. Puzzled why people late until the last minute and react, instead of being proactive. I guess when we weenies know the power of mother nature, we don’t mess around.
  3. Makes sense why the prep and response has been pathetic.
  4. Here’s the sucker that I think caused the outage in my hood:
  5. ES sent out a text today. Not sure if this is statewide or just my area but here it is: ———— Eversource:All substantially restored before 11:59 p.m. Tuesday. Town times by Saturday. Updates: Eversource.com. Do not reply. Support:8002862000
  6. +1 it is. Seems like you can score in the mornings but as the day progresses, the wind picks up and the greens firm up a bit. It’s just enough to crunch the field. Take Li out (who couldn’t hit a GIR today so he’ll fall back) and everyone is within 7 shots. I mean, literally...anyone who made the cut has a chance. If you shoot a 64 in the morning tomorrow, you’re in play for Sunday. Great PGA championship imo.
  7. I hit my local GolfQuest range several times a week. It has a pretty crappy chip/putt/bunker practice facility but I still spend 30min after my range session
  8. You don’t have one close to you anymore?
  9. Small improvements...that eventually become outdated. It’s the American way. It’s like when we patch up potholes...Instead of going big and being innovative, we play whack-a-mole. There is a stretch on 84 in Danbury/Newtown where they repaved the highway last year but something happenned because they had to dig up certain patches for some underground work. Maybe drainage or sewer work. Anyway, they patched up those areas with cement. And now they are repaving that highway stretch again lol.
  10. Scoring is up today, unexpectedly, so cut line will probably be at Even. Weekend scoring should come down a bit though.
  11. Yup. Nobody wants this...especially this year.
  12. You’re the authority...make some calls and make it happen.
  13. Roads, bridges, power grids...but also our mass transit. We’re an ancient society. But as long as the oligarchs keep cashing in, it’s all good apparently.
  14. Good first round. Cut line looking +1 atm. Some surprises with short players like Kaymer and Zach Johnson but if you hit fairways and greens....you can keep pace.
  15. Yea. Great idea closing lanes at 6pm. Had to go down 9 and on Corbins Corner to get to WeHa.
  16. Yup. America’s infrastructure is awful in general and CT is at the bottom of the list.
  17. Nah. I’m in Southbury but we have damage that looks like that. I think Wolfie and ThunderBlizzard live in Southington.
  18. Still haven’t seen any ES trucks around and the tree in the middle of the road that took down our power hasn’t been touched.
  19. Our daycare closed at 3pm yesterday during the height of the winds and when we lost power lol. So that just shows you that even if we think this was forecasted well...you don’t know where organizations are getting their forecasts from and even then, you still have to have upper management of various divisions in synch with it. You can get a good forecast but still drop the ball internally.
  20. That’s what I’m thinking...reactive instead of proactive. Easy to push cost increases with a keyboard stroke though.
  21. I didn’t see any trucks this morning between the Bury’s and WeHa. They were probably out but with the amount of outages...I was expecting to see crews everywhere. I’m curious now WTH is going on internally there.
  22. My bill was $335 this past month which is double than what a typical July is. I filed a compliant. But I’m more concerned about restoring power and doesn’t look like it’s happening today. Not much info on their site besides they are ‘evaluating’.
