  1. Funny how people stake their claim to ‘their land’ and don’t want outsiders but at some point they themselves moved into a previously ‘claimed’ land and labeled as outsiders. It’s a viscous cycle of man’s psychopathic beliefs that only they or their family are true people of a specific territory but unless they evoved from an ameoba at a nearby lake...we are all nomadic and have no right to claim anything but our own subconscious. But alas, the American belief system of ‘this is mine you’re not welcomed here’ runs rampant. Blacks - you can’t eat at this restaurant or drink from this fountain. Immigrants - go back to where you came from. People, such deeply flawed species, and while we have evolved...we are still making the same mistakes humans made thousands of years ago - tempted by greed, power, control, and the vagina.
  2. Apparently players voted against match play in 2018 before they came up with the staggered scoring so they were against it as well. But I think it is made for TV. People like seeing rankings and the upsets. You have 16 groups/matches on day 1...8 on day 2, etc...We’re talking best 30/32 players so anything can happen. Not like it’s 1 vs 124 in the WGR. Yea you could have matches ending early and some will suck so maybe a hybrid event would work. Regardless, they should find a way to give every player a realstic shot at winning while also rewarding the top fedex points players.
  3. Great to have options. Not everyone is the same boat. Democracy is a beautiful thing so why would anyone want to discourage it...
  4. I like the staggered scoring format for the TC but only 5/6 games have a real shot at winning the cup. If you’re the last 30 standing, everyone should be given a chance. You’re not when you start 10 shots back before you even tee off on Friday. There has to be a better way. Maybe match play? Top 30 get in with top 2 getting a first round bye...and re-seed after each round.
  5. ‘Helpers’ are usually hard working immgrants (legal or illegal) around here. We’ve had no issues with recieving quality trade work.
  6. Oh yea...right. Thought you could do a little business loan to cut the trees down to extend the camp but private property, not much one can do besides take a chainsaw and start climbing.
  7. It’s your son’s summer camp business, right?
  8. I’ve thought about installing a pool here but I have too many trees surrounding the back so the extra cost associated with taken them down has prevented me from seriously considering it. I wouldn’t want a pool in the shade. Plus, I’d much rather spend $15-20k on central AC instead.
  9. Oh I know it’s probably not that simple but Wouldn’t you want the pool to be exposed by as much sun as possible...especially in NNE..where you have a shorter summer?
  10. For sure. I’ll gently push my kids in that direction. My 4yr old son already has that science/math brain makeup.
  11. Absolutely. I would encourage the trifecta..college, apprenticeships, and building your work portfolio early. A bachelor’s thesedays is equivalent to a high school diploma in the 80s. To separate from the pack now, you have to build yourself up early and often
  12. “Will there be a 3 day torch as I envision?”:
  13. Huh? How do you come up with that conclusion from me saying we need to invest in America lol...holy spin on your part.
  14. We haven’t pulled out of the tribal wars. Nothing has changed on the ground. Big talk and big words that we are brining our troops home doesn’t negate the fact that we still waste trillions overseas. We don’t need to be everyone’s big brother. Bad actors ready to pounce? How about we don’t instigate in the first place. We can still spend on defense but do it wiser...we don’t need bases everywhere. While our troops are stationed and our tax money is wasted...our infrastructure is crumbling.
  15. Only way to do that is by penalizing companies from moving their production plants overseas. Otherwise, what incentive do they have when profit rules the day? Now...add in automation on top of it and it’s lights out. New slogan ‘Made in America...by Machines.’
  16. Apparently that is very difficult for our some of politicians to understand and implement.
  17. Have we? https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nytimes.com/2019/10/21/world/middleeast/us-troops-deployments.amp.html But I agree with the theory (I’ve been pounding the table to stop wasting tax payer money overseas)...I just don’t trust our government to reduce military spending and re-investing domestically instead. We love to dictate to the world how they should operate but fail take care of our own issues. Big corps, government...it’s the all the same greedy corrupt people.
  18. This decade is going to be a huge stress on our economy, post pandemic, as automation becomes a bigger factor...vaporizing a good chunk of low wage jobs and accelerating our wealth inequality.
  19. Which is why I recommend saving early and often to retire as early as possible...to anyone who has that capability. My plan is to retire at 55 but I know it will probably be closer to 60. Setting the bar high.
  20. I think their building codes were slightly different back then.
  21. Many older homes in the region don’t have the proper R Value.
