  1. Yup. I am having 4 cut down in the next couple weeks that are way too close. If I had my way, I’d cut every tree on my property within 200ft of the house.
  2. Just make it back to back 40F...like some others like to round up or down a couple degrees depending on the season.
  3. I see what you did there...setting yourself up for the reverse winter jinx.
  4. I haven’t seen any recent photos so I’d agree.
  5. I don’t keep mowing records but it was later than usual.
  6. You also tried to bring summer in Feb and March...and it turned out to be cold and snowy thru May.
  7. “We never got above freezing”...when it touched 34.6 for an hour. I shot a 78...except I took three mulligans off the tee and didn’t take a penalty stroke when I couldn’t find my ball in the woods.
  8. What’s a couple degrees amongst friends.
  9. A refreshing night with the windows opened. The people are happier.
  10. If I lived further north, it would be more of a factor. But being where I am, I just want opportunities every winter month and if the pack is wiped out in between...it’s somewhat the norm, so it’s not a big knock.
  11. It felt like early fall coc yesterday and last night. We have moved on.
  12. Yea and the kid’s parents who will make a huge stink about their freedoms and liberties being taken from the ‘commie bastards’ who control the schools.
  13. I don’t know you can make it work, balancing healthy safety and education but I think districts have to try? Glad I’m not making the decisions though.
  14. It’s not going well in the very early stages: Covid-19 infections among students have already caused some colleges to halt in-person classes: https://www.cnn.com/2020/08/19/health/us-coronavirus-wednesday/index.html
  15. Yea but it’s also a case of recent big events and big winters this decade/century that has increased our perception of what think our climo is. A couple of good winters in a row with big KU’s makes it seem like that is the norm and not the exception. Most have been spoiled, especially EMA. Regarding rating average winters...how we get to average, matters. Two Nov snows and a couple Mar snows while DJF suck will skew the grade negatively while a typical winter of varied results but with snow events in the heart of winter is fine. I don’t expect nor care for sustained wire to wire pack winters here but I do expect a couple of snows in each of DJF. If those crap out, I don’t care what happens in March or April...sure, I’ll enjoy it if it snows but it’s not positively affecting my grade much, if at all. Winter already failed the test at that point, there are no retakes.
  16. I only remember summers of prolonged high dews like 2018 and this year. One day of 86/75 is as forgettable as a 45F degree day in January but a 100/55 day is not.
  17. Yea true. And those moments where a player makes a long putt or sticks a close approach shot but other than that...it’s not a game changer really.
