  1. I hope I get something. Last measurable here was July 7 with 0.24". I've only had 0.38" for the month of July to date. Currently 75 with dp 70.
  2. Nada here. The radar returns are literally just evaporating away as they approach the city line. It's currently 77 and overcast with dp 71.
  3. The walk has dried up and it's like the city is steaming away the rain. Temp is down to 79 and dp is down to 70. All I can do, if nothing can break out of these clouds, is hope for something Monday night 'cause after that, the furnace gets turned on.
  4. I figured that was headed your way since it was obvious it wasn't headed my way (although your blob is already starting to fall apart). Still nothing tipping the bucket yet here.
  5. LOL A slightly narrow darker green area is now over me and am getting a series of drops. Some are even splatting on my front storm door but we'll see if any of it tips the bucket. Still 80 but the dp is now 71.
  6. You are fortunate! Even with returns over me, I got about 30 drops that I could barely see on the walk and am now in a dead zone of nothing. It's currently overcast and teasing rain but not producing, with the temp at 80 and dp 70.
  7. And for the first time this morning, the sun has finally come out! Temp/dp the same as the previous post so far.
  8. LOL I saw some pop-ups to the west last evening and some of the earlier radar returns managed to wet my sidewalk but nothing measurable. The advancing pop-up (included below) had apparently dissipated upon arrival here and although again, nothing measurable and probably some to wet the leaves and walks. In any case, had a high of 88 yesterday and a low of 69 this morning with quite a bit of overcast so far. It's currently 75 with dp 71.
  9. I think all that rain we had in April and May (I recorded over 7" each of those months) plus the persistent trough-over-the-east definitely impacted any persistent heat here. Meanwhile around the rest of the world (including Europe that is apparently reaching or breaking 300 year old heat records) has been under the furnace. It doesn't appear that I'll hit 90 today though, but we'll see. Am currently bopping between 87/88 with dp 63. I had one of those gigantic Chinese Mantises lounging on a milkweed I had last year and it eventually started hanging around my hummingbird feeder (on the fence overlooking it). Had to knock the thing away from that a few times last summer. Example of how they snag them (those suckers can get to be 4" or more long) -
  10. I have at least 3 cicada killers out front battling it out for territory. My Upper Darby sis mentioned all the efforts she went through this month to get the ones she has (apparently they need more than regular wasp killer spray to get rid of). I ended up hitting 91 yesterday (the first 3-consecutive-days of 90+ for a heatwave, the 5th 90 of July, and 10th since May) after a low of 73. This morning's low was a slightly cooler 70 and am currently bopping between 86 and 86 with dp 62 and lots of cumulus.
  11. That will be a total foul ball that flies behind the batter and gets nowhere near the field here. I did end up making it to 90 here , after a low of 70. It was the 4th 90 or higher temp this month and the 9th 90+ day IMBY since May. Currently have just a few scattered clouds post-sunset, and it's 80, with dp 66.
  12. Am dittoing that, Nice wide line moving east, TOR up in NY, and it just about disintegrates over us. Currently 85 and cloudy with dp 72 (which you would think would make it unstable). Edit - I'm getting some droplets making visible spats on the pavement but so far, not enough to be measurable.
  13. Norman's Thunderstorm Watches up for the CWA - Before it started clouding up, I made it up to 91 after a low of 68. It's currently threatening and 86 with dp 72.
  14. Ended up pulling out the hose finally and still haven't heard any cicadas but I expect with the upcoming heat, they may finally get going. Made it up to 83 today and the dp did creep back up into the 60s. But overall, it was a typical summer day, with fair weather cumulus in the afternoon giving way to changeable skies that are currently filled with stratocumulus. Temp is 76 with dp 64.
  15. Was out there about 20 minutes ago and didn't hear any but good that they are up and about now! I did see a butterfly (looked like a little Red Admiral) on one of my tall cone flowers that recently started blooming. Gonna have to pull the hose out. The humidity is down although that sun is strong.
  16. Finally the drier air started pushing in sometime between ~ 7 am - 8 am and my dp finally dropped into the upper 50s. After a low of 65 this morning, it's currently sunny and 74 with dp 57.
  17. It would be nice to have more data from the 6z and 18z that we usually laugh at but obsessively look at anyway.
  18. RedSky had posted something about a hardware upgrade a few pages back, so if the model update hasn't happened yet, this might make it possible to move forward with it - The linked article does mention the ensembles, which suggests that the hardware upgrade will be a go-ahead for the EPS update - Well the sun managed to come out for about 5 minutes around 6 pm (longest appearance of the day) before it disappeared again. But in any event, I pretty much finished up with the 0.08" for the day. High did make it to 78 and the dp sortof dropped down to the upper 60s vs the lower 70s, and it's currently 74 with dp 67.
  19. Talk about stingy! So far what looked promising when I went to bed last night resulted in 0.08", with most of it between 2 - 3 am, and a dribble between 4 - 5 am. Whatever is on the radar now is just sitting in the clouds. After a low of 71, it's currently overcast and 73 with a dp of 66.
  20. Damn - I was just looking at the cluster up in your neck of the woods too and said he's GOT to be getting something outta that. But alas. It's still overcast here and 80 with dp 72.
  21. After a low of 65 this morning, I did make it up to 86 today, even with mostly sunny skies, but the humidity was pretty rough with dews in the low 70s the entire time. It has clouded up now and is currently 84 with dp 73. Hoping for a quick pop-up or something tonight. Still grateful for the surprise 024" that I got yesterday,
  22. Looks like I finished up with 0.24" from the stuff thrown up here from the low traversing the stalled front. Was able to get the plant leaves a bit of a wash after that. Currently overcast, 70 and dp 69, with occasional steamy windows.
  23. Grateful for this so far and saw a Flood Advisory lofted for south of I-76 and west of I-95- So far have 0.23" in the bucket and obviously the heavier stuff is to my south but me take. Currently light rain and 69 with dp 68.
  24. There are actually droplets falling from the sky - KYW traffic report whining about it and I'm celebrating! It started up here just after 4 am and so far have 0.10" in the bucket. Currently 70 and light rain with dp 69.
  25. I think if we had had more days of heat last month, they might have emerged sooner. But by having our winter in spring and it being springish in early summer, that probably slowed them down if the ground was still too cool. I am more surprised about the lack of crickets so far. I guess being still early July can be deceptive for expectations. I did make it to 89 as a high while watching strands of pearls tstorm cells blowing past to my south and north despite some periodic threatening clouds. I did manage to get a passing light shower that deposited 0.06" the morning of July 3rd but nothing since June 27, so I guess I'll be grateful for that. The grass here has held so far but don't know how much longer... It's currently 84 and mostly cloudy with some occasional breaks of sun, and dp is 66.
