  1. Looks like today/tomorrow may be a nowcast storm. So far picked up 0.07" of rain overnight and the temp is hovering not much above freezing at 34 here.
  2. I was in the 34 - 35 temp range much of the day until later this afternoon when the temps started creeping up to 37, which is my current temp (with light drizzle/mist). Have picked up 0.53" so far today but didn't see any flakes or ip.... at least yet. Have also been semi-following the wild model gyrations trying to deal with the coastal and where it sets up. I expect there may be some surprised folks tomorrow if this all verifies. Even Amazon seemed to realize something was up when when they sent out another delivery truck and I received a couple packages about 30 minutes ago that were due for delivery tomorrow that they went on and delivered today (about 15 minutes after I received today's expected deliveries)!
  3. You're right - that WSW was put up by Binghampton (the point and click is acting wacky) -
  4. Mt. Holly lofted a WWA further south and converted the Leigh Valley Watch to a Warning...
  5. You're basking more than me. I'm currently at 35 near the 400ft asl range. Some of the lower elevation sensors around Springfield & Cheltenham townships are at or barely above freezing and the ones in those same areas near the tops of all these hills are running warmer - in the 38/39 range.
  6. As of the 11 pm update, Sebastien is now post-tropical -
  7. 5 pm update (not much change other than forward motion and expected to become post-tropical some time tomorrow) -
  8. Flakes are coming down pretty heavy - still pancake but coating the cars and grassy areas. Temp down to 37.
  9. Just got a text from my sis in Wyndmoor to alert to the big flakes. Literally 5 minutes later they started here in NW Philly with some pancake flakes. Already up to 0.84" rain today (0.14" yesterday) and a temp of 38.
  10. 5 am update and it continues to strengthen (plus a slight delay in prog for it going post-tropical) -
  11. Better late than never but a 5 pm Sat. update (although it has strengthened over the past couple days, it is expected to become post-tropical tomorrow and dissipate next week) -
  12. Was trying to post earlier but there were apparently some issues with Amwx.... 5 am update on Sebastien -
  13. After a high that barely cracked freezing yesterday (33), I bottomed out at 23 this morning, a degree "warmer" than yesterday morning's low of 22. Currently 29 and overcast.
  14. Couple record and tied record lows this morning (from AFD Climate section) -
  15. Currently at 22 with single digit dps (currently @ 7 here), and still a bit more than an hour before sunrise. That's some arctic air!
  16. I think last year the snow was a couple days later, on 11/15 - 11/16/18 (and I actually got 4.5" of a combo of frozen then).
  17. I was a senior in college at UMASS/Amherst then. For some reason I don't remember much about it because usually the eastern side of the state got the bulk of the nor'easter snows and this particular one happened about a week after Karen Carpenter had died, so that seemed to stick with me more than the weather at the time. I used to work at the radio station on campus and did the Friday drive-time news, so remembered reporting that (also remember watching the M*A*S*H finale a couple weeks later too ). They usually cleared the snow out pretty quickly on campus, although the snowball fights would be epic before that happened. I think there was more hullaboo about that blizzard down here than up there.
  18. Looks like that is all done and temp is down to 34 and mostly cloudy.
  19. Have gone from flurries to SN. LOL It's trying to stick and is slowly dropping the temp (still 35 but instead of 35.2, it's 34.9).
  20. I was over at my sister's house yesterday and got ladybugged to death yesterday as I was wrapping her fig. It had hit a high of 63 in this area yesterday so it was a good day to do it. But that is all a memory as I got flakes flying here with the temp down to 35 after a high earlier this morning of 54. Looks like a heavier band is incoming.
  21. I saw that a few RERs were issued this morning - ILG (tied record low of 24), MPO (record low of 11, previous 13), & TTN (smashed record low with a 19, previous 24). It did manage to make it up to 40 here today and is currently 35 & partly cloudy.
  22. Bottomed out at 22 (21.7) here this morning. Currently 35, partly sunny (with quite a bit of cirrus) and dps in the teens, so it's pretty chilly for this time of year... although with little or no wind, it's not too bad.
  23. Ended up with 0.15" rain yesterday with a high of 59 & low of 38. And this morning I bottomed out at 32 (31.8) and haven't moved much since as it's currently 38 and partly cloudy with a bunch of puffy cumulus.
  24. Some more from the Washington Post Capital Gang - https://www.washingtonpost.com/weather/2019/11/05/category-super-typhoon-halong-among-strongest-storms-ever-observed-by-satellite/
