  1. Actually, I understand that no matter whether one's chicken originates in the Eastern Shore megafacilities or elsewhere, overnutrients get washed into waters and create dead zones.
  2. So far, Arlington County has NOT brined (as far as I can tell) The Hill of Doom. Maybe they're holding off until the morning.
  3. I actually saw an Alexandria pickup truck hauling a buffalo of ice melt, driving over bike trails and brining them before the Potomac Yards construction got out of the way so they could brine Potomac Ave. I THINK Arlington already brined the Fort Scott Drive ski slope... er, hill.
  4. The last time I was at the store, one cashier was telling another about how her SO was tracking three weather radars. I warned her not to let him sign up for weather boards where almost everybody was rooting for GW 79 redux.
  5. Did you EVER go through the New Coke fiasco?? ((creakle, crackle, pop))
  6. At this minute, LWX is only forecasting 0.9" for DCA Hourly Graphical Forecast for 38.87N 77.03W (weather.gov) As a warminista, I want DC's UHI to extend over me and melt it all away. The rest of you can keep all the s***.
  7. This is totally silly. DCA 12.1 BWI 11.8 IAD 10.2 And it's only MLK day... At least RIC is semi-behaving at 3 inches so far...
  8. PLEASE drag the UHI boundary over me into Crystal City, so the rest of you can enjoy the s*** and surface by St. Patrick's day.
  9. Unfortunately ((for me as a warminstra)) this might be one of those years where I'm asking for the rescue snow shovel crew.
  10. I Hate S***. Since my antique snow removing machine broke down, I'm going to have to call in to get someone to shovel out the car. Bring out the torch and get rid of all this XXXX after the weekend ((I wish)).

  13. PLEASE extend the UHI fence to 2 miles west of DCA. My antique snow-remover got broken last year. ((Please think about those who shovel you out.))
  14. Once again, I expect the Mid-Atlantic snow lovers to hate everything until MLK day. Wait until Febrrary. And then March, when you can get our withered corpses out of the house... I am a warminsta, but I'm hoping for a below-normal snowfall (at least at DCA, the rest of you can cash in).

  18. OOPS, meant to say flood warning. But for the usual trouble spots such as S. Glebe Road and the I-395 underpasses, makes not much difference. And WTOP just announced that Columbia Pike is underwater at S. Greenbrier.

  20. Getting half-pea-sized hail near Crystal City.
  21. Have both the DCA and USGS gauges for Four Mile Run broken?? I've been lashed with rain in Arlington, but not a scrap has been reported.
