Y’all are just rubbing it in our faces at this point. I’m used to dealing with snow envy, but this is getting ridiculous.

It never fails. That mean looking cell moving up I-85 starts to weaken as it approaches the Triad. That’s been the routine for weeks now.
RAH has me getting
1.14”of rain through Friday evening. I’m taking the under on that one.Edit: Forecast cut to
1.04”0.89”0.81”0.00”. -
New details emerge regarding Doppler blind spots in Brunswick County, NC
I guess they either cut the trees or move the radar.

For my backyard the next couple of days, the rain forecast from the hi-res NAM is more generous with rain (4.0”) than the vanilla NAM (0.6”) and the HRRR (1.2”).
I’ll end up with 0.1”.

0.01” of rain yesterday and RAH is already backing off their forecast for today.

Wow, Finished up 1.74" in that batch.
Congratulations. I forgot what sustained rainfall is like.

Even my weed yard is showing signs of distress but it is much greener than many of the “fancy” lawns around here.
We’re on a well, but I’m not going to waste a lot of water on my “fancy” yard. Right now, it would take copious amounts of water to keep it at Augusta National standards. Just not worth wearing out my well. I’m watering just enough to keep it slightly greenish tan. My wife thinks I’m nuts, but that’s been the case for 27 years of marriage.

The rain roulette wheel is spinning this week. Best chances for rain throughout the southeast over the next few days than we’ve had in many weeks.

Low of 55.Absolutely beautiful morning. Cool breeze and no signs of humidity. Currently 66/55. May be our last night into the 50's until October. Hope not but hard to get 50's in June.

Almost half of my total rainfall was on one day. (1.26” on May 3)

Just 0.02” here so you’re not alone
Misery loves company.

I was under a severe thunderstorm warning for what ended up being 0.05” of light rain.
It doesn’t rain anymore even when they call for rain. Feels like snow season.

Cells are developing in the Triad right now. Cross your fingers.
Edit: Radar looking really nice and then cells get within ten miles and start losing intensity. I’ll be lucky to see a sprinkle.

We managed .05" from a fast moving small storm. 16 days now without appreciable rain.
I ended up an additional 0.08” of rain overnight. Total of 0.16”.
A 70% chance of thunderstorms this afternoon. Latest HRRR shows 1.0” possible here with cells passing through around 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM, but we know how that often works out. I’d love for the bottom to fall out for an hour or two.
-
Temp went from 85 to 72 in half an hour. Received 0.08” of rain within a five minute period. We’re begging for scraps here.

I’m refreshing the radar constantly hoping to see a blob of orange and red that little blip to my west gives me hope
Me, too. I have some scattered blobs moving in from the WSW, but just a half mile can make the difference between a trace and a quarter of an inch.

Who else is playing thunderstorm roulette today? I have a 60% chance IMBY.
My sprinklers are intended to augment rain, but there’s little point now. I’d have to water all morning to keep up.

True, but I think we are coming together. We seem to play to the level of our opponents for some reason. It would be great to get Ceddrick back for this but I think we see a better Canes team in the next round.
I hope they make the round 2 schedule announcement today. I’m in section 124.

The crowd has made the Haula sentiment pretty clear, lol. I agree the Bolts will be a much faster easier watch but the physical toll will be the brutal part I fear.
Another frustrating game tonight. Canes look like a pile of poo this second period. Likely the worst period I’ve seen them play all season. They’re rattled.
As someone born and raised in Tennessee, I couldn’t stand anything related to Nashville. That makes this series that much more excruciating to watch.

This series has been frustrating but the Bolts will be brutal.
Like many teams, the Canes tend to play up (or down) to their level of competition, so with measured expectations, I’d actually enjoy watching a tough series with Tampa (assuming we don’t get taken out to the shed so to speak). The Preds series has been infuriating. I didn’t realize how much I disliked Haula until now.

First 90+ degree day of the calendar year IMBY. Topped out at 90.9.

I think back to 2006 and how the Canes came within a hair of being bounced by a low-seeded Montreal in the first round. Started with two home loses and had to win in OT in game 6 on the road.
But I agree with getting on the board early and often in this next game. I think the Preds have scored first in 4 of the 5 games so far. Canes have had some success in chasing games and it’s a good skill to have, but that luck runs out eventually. And it’s ugly to watch.
I optimistically ordered my seats for round 2.

Nope, and I turned it off after 2. Nacho's wrap was due and some of what I expect we will see from him in the future. This team is the best we have ever put on the ice ...sometimes. They need to pick it up or we are toast. Got extremely lucky last night.
I was so relieved after Naces’ second goal that I didn’t even react. I just numbly sat there. Here’s to hoping that we’re not treated to a game 7.

This is not the same team we watched a month ago.
