See all the while we got rain last week, now its your turn. Life is good
Believe it or not, after all that rain surrounding me on the radar since early this morning, my weather station has only recorded a TRACE of rainfall today. Station just south of me had 1.18” today and another just north of me had 0.51”. Meanwhile, my sidewalk was briefly moist. I don’t know what in the world is going on.

I had a storm cell blossom over the house this evening and drop 0.70” of rain in 10 minutes. Talk about a heavy rate. I’m thankful though. Daily rainfall:
- June 2: 0.01”
- June 3: TRACE
- June 4: 0.02”
- June 6: 0.49”
- June 7: 0.21”
- June 8: TRACE
- June 9: 0.12”
- June 10: 1.62”
For the month so far, 2.47” total. I have some catching up to do being in a hole and all.
-
1.04” of rain here since 11:00 PM last night. Pleasant surprise. Maybe we can pick up another 1” through tonight.
1.77” for June so far. It’s supposed to be our wettest month of the year according to the state climate office, so I have some catching up to do.

No rain in Raleigh area but hoping that activity to the north builds south overnight. We will see
I’ve been asleep, but was surprised to see (according to my station) that five separate cells passed through between 11:00 PM and 2:30 AM leaving me 0.90” of rain. Airport has had 0.01” overnight, so maybe my luck is changing.

The pavement got wet here, that’s it. I was hoping this line would deliver.
I realize that confirmation bias plays a roll in not noticing when big storms actually do work in our favor, but, man, there’s nothing more frustrating than when you’re in desperate need of rain and a huge cell rips in two as it approaches and then rejoins after it passes you. That certainly seems to be the pattern here lately.

I'm in a similar situation here. Only .05 this month and rain all around.
PTI is sitting at 0.75” for the evening while I’ve had a light shower. The problem with following the weather as a hobby is that you starting noticing all these annoying anomalies and trends. Ignorance is bliss.

If I could grow vegetables with lightning, I’d win the county fair. Unfortunately, it takes rain.

I was thinking of you when I saw the radar, you can finally get some rain there lol
It’s not looking too good for me right now. Another storm 360 degrees around me and ZERO rain here. We’re on a ridge and can see columns of rain in every direction.
I think some kind of DARPA weather manipulation force field device has been secretly placed somewhere in my neighborhood.

My little rain today might reduce the “you should run the sprinklers more often” lectures from my wife?

A second round of scattered showers has been coming through this evening. Total of 0.52” so far today. That’s the most rain I’ve had in one day since May 4. I hope that we all start seeing a sustained pattern of afternoon storms to help get us out of this drought.
-
I had a quick 18-minute shower this afternoon dropping 0.27”. Thank you, Lord. I’ll take whatever I can get. Temperature went from 88 to 76 in minutes.

This game is pissing me off. It’s tough playing 9 on 4 for two periods. No reason that we shouldn’t be up 4-2 instead of down 4-5.
Combination of soft calls and lack of discipline from the Canes. Vasilevskiy is acting human today and the Canes can’t take advantage of it.

LOL, some of the folks ATG said OT was like a library in there last night. Here's to keeping it that way on Sat.
I’m going to listen to Mike and Tripp on 99.9. That duo on USA Network was unbearable. Tuesday’s game time is 6:30 PM.

Reading all these rain observations makes me feel like the third grader who doesn’t have a pet for “bring your pet school day”.

According to their forum we are boring. Here's to boring them some more..
We’re supposedly boring? Tampa has to issue their fans little party favors in order to make noise. PNC is louder even while twirling around terry cloth towels.
(Full disclosure: I yell and clap during games just to be louder. The towel stays in my back pocket.)

I've had more the last two days (2.90 so far), than I had all April and May (2.01).
Congratulations. I know you needed it.I’ll post the storm total accumulation map here shortly after this latest cell misses me to the north. It’s been something else watching rain on the radar 360 degrees around me and not a single drop here.

Very impressive 2 day rainfall total of 2.52.” Even so, Areas just west of here in wake county saw much more. Much of it fell today as steady soaking rain.
That really is impressive. Your two-day total matches my total rain from May 3 through June 3.
If I were a farmer relying on rainfall, I’d be close to jumping.

Can't make Sunday unless something changes but will be there Tuesday for sure.
Pardon my uncanny command of the obvious, but the Canes need to win tonight or Saturday to bring the series back home for game 5. I guess I should just be pessimistic in advance so I won’t end up disappointed.
They’ve not played badly. Just no puck luck so far.

Approaching an inch since midnight. Crazy. Too bad it is mostly runoff and not soaking in the ground. Flash Flood Warning up now
If I send you some empty milk jugs, could you fill them up with your runoff? I’ll swing by this weekend to pick them up.

RadarScope. Highly recommend
While talking to friends and neighbors about the weather, I’ll chuckle to myself when they pull out their weather app with the composite blob radar. It gives me an opportunity to evangelize about RadarScope.

June Observations 2021
in Southeastern States
Posted
My patience finally paid off. I was at ZERO all day long with storms in all directions, but then this evening a strong storm moved in from the northwest along the Virginia border. I was expecting it to weaken considerably by the time it reached me, but it held together. I’ve reach 0.94” in 28 minutes. I should end with over an inch by the time it clears out.
