That GFS 18z run looked great for an early winter storm. 850’s are plenty of cold and storm track looks good. A bit of stale cold but I think if the storm comes in at night we can get some snow this weekend.
Gfs lost the cutters

Seems like we’d have to get about two snowstorms a week in Feb to meet his 200% of normal snow based on his AN’s and BN’s for D-M
Well a storm or 2 can put my area above normal ( NYC )

DT going big
DT is going with a very snowy and cold winter for the east coast.

DT is going with a very snowy and cold winter for the east coast. He has February being very cold and snowy with the December , January and March being near normal.
He has the east coast from the Mid Atalntic to New England being 200 percent above normal with snowfall this winter. First time ever he has done that.

The mid month timeframe should be watched for a storm near the coast.
Tellies look good but of course it will all depend on timing and cold air.
Interior areas would be favored at this point.

Mid November should be watched for an east coast storm with the deep trough in the east. Interior areas have the best chance of snow if a storm develops but the coast should also watch out for it.

Warmer than normal and stormy first week of November coming up. Very active cutter pattern with wind and rain chances. Similar to the October means with a ridge along the East Coast and the trough over the Central US. So we continue to have blend of El Nino and La Nina influences. One of the few El Nino Octobers with a +SOI.
Average SOI for last 30 days 3.49
Gfs has a snow chance at 288

Gfs looks just as warm now for the first 10 days of November as it was in October.
Several strong cutters making things very stormy.
Cmc has a big dump of cold air by 240
