  1. No. I have been to Lauxmont a couple of times for weddings though. Beautiful scene overlooking the river. It's on the other side of the river just south of Wrightsville, whereas I was right by Mount Joy.
  2. It was a private venue on a farm just outside of Mount Joy. Absolutely stunning setting down in a meadow.
  3. Youngest?? I wasn't aware 41 qualified for that haha. In fact, I thought I was part of that group that was being haggled by the youngsters a few weeks back for being old heads. I could be wrong. I by no means think 41 is old but I also know I don't feel like I did at 20 or 30 or even last week ha. Totally agree about MDT, would love to see a bubble over it with a good soaking everywhere lese. Yes, you have the right of it with the whore stuff haha
  4. Whew what a weekend. I built a firepit on Saturday and I'm sore as a whore from carrying all the stones and kneeling so much, which speaks to two things: (1) how old I'm getting and (2) how out of shape I am. Pathetic ha. But the pit looks great! Then had a wedding yesterday afternoon and despite being in a full suit in full sun it wasn't all that bad, with the humidity being what it is and a solid breeze going the whole time. Looks like another beautiful but dry week ahead. Goes without saying but could really really use some rain at this point -- sitting at .37" for the month. I will say, I'm almost rooting for MDT to break the record at this point. Should be fun to track. Have a great week everyone.
  5. A couple lines of light showers ended up popping late. You should end up with a few hundredths, per all the local WU stations. One in Maytown showing .04”. Small victories ha.
  6. I graduated from Penn State in 2004 and I recall nothing from that prior summer. Just wanted to add that super useful info
  7. Yikes. Euro and Canadian not looking any better. Both with mega donut holes over the LSV. That May record inching closer with every model run.
  8. It seems we got down to about 35-36 here but some low-lying rurals nearby did slightly drop below freezing. No real signs of frost but I brought the plants in last night to be safe. Looking more and more like Saturday will just be another strung out frontal passage that dries up upon approach. Really hope I'm wrong because outside of that and some very spotty convective activity there isn't much of anything in the extended forecast. This really could end up as one of the driest Mays on record if things keep up, as someone mentioned recently (forget who, apologies). Anything around an inch or less would put us solidly in the top ten and half an inch or under would be top 3. The record for MDT is .29" from 1902 and we currently sit at only .15". Will be interesting to follow. The eastern US captured the national low, with Mount Washington checking in at a brisk 12 degrees. Enjoy the weekend everyone. Let's hope for some moisture Saturday, and in any case, it looks like another beautiful Sunday. Cheers!
  9. Just a perfect crisp spring week ahead. Really digging this spring. Could sure use some rain though. Cool nighttime temps will help to stave it off but the grass will start to show it soon if things don't improve.
  10. Light to steady rain here most of the day amounted to .2”. Thought it would be more when I checked the gauge but we’ll take it.
  11. Tell me about it. Been noticing for days that we are on a razor's edge when it comes to rain Saturday morning. Wouldn't be surprised to see the grounds stay dry again ugh. Not much in the pipeline after that either. You're right about Sunday though, looks like a can't miss kind of day.
  12. Heck yeah it is. The wife and I are taking the boat out on the river tomorrow and it's looking like another perfect ten kind of day.
  13. Morning all! Nice little inversion night, with most places around me bottoming out in the mid 40s but the low-lying rurals reaching upper 30s. Interesting about the smoke. I still can't believe we ended up a couple degrees above average for yesterday. What a compete forecast bust, but hey, it happens. Looks like we'll only be a couple degrees BN by the start of next week. Then things look to be a bit more seasonable with some cool shots of air even likely for the extended period. I'll bet May ends up somewhere around average, which I think we'd all take in a heartbeat.
  14. I haven't found anything over .01" yet and the vast majority are just zero. Even those heavier looking radar returns over York haven't seemed to add up to much of anything on the ground. Crazy to think we have a chance of actually having a near-normal day today temp-wise, never saw that coming.
  15. Despite decent returns on the radar, none of the WU stations near my house reported anything. Dry air winning out. Skies already brightening up a bit up here in Harrisburg.
  16. Seems like we could be in line for a pretty big forecast bust around here, with next to no rain and temps popping near 70 late this afternoon. Quite the contrast from what was portrayed leading up to this period.
  17. Just a splendid weekend. Saturday was perfect for our three year old's birthday party. The mojitos and mint juleps were flowing like water -- for the adults, not the three year olds ha. Just a pinch of rain over here yesterday, not enough to even wet the ground. Outside of tomorrow, it looks like a great week ahead. National high/low of 105/11 at Rio Grande Village, TX and Peter Sinks, UT, respectively. Onward.
  18. Yep, some cool nights should help mitigate the plus departures. It will be a slow slog back to normal but I do think it's likely we eventually get there, even if it takes all month.
  19. Still ten degrees below average and yet we're thrilled; tells you how things have been going ha. Looks like we'll be above normal for a lengthy period this month though, so relief is on the way.
  20. .02" yesterday and the 6th straight day with measurable precip. Thinking it will be tough to reach 7 but not out of the question. In the last 11 days I have received 3.71" of rainfall. The Toro is going to have its work cut out for it when I finally get around to mowing on Friday.
  21. And to think Snowshoe has another 1,000' of elevation in addition to that, albeit another 50 miles south and perhaps not in as consistent of a flow. Either way, great stuff!
  22. Saw a report of over 10" near Davis, WV. Seven Springs had some good snow falling on the cams this morning. Here is the scene in Snowshoe.....
  23. An additional .04” of rain yesterday for me. Now five straight days with measurable precip; thinking today makes six.
  24. They really are. I checked the Seven Springs cam a little bit ago and it was a veritable whiteout!
