  1. I matched ya with .13". Low of 72. Looks like another decent chance for storms today, albeit later in the evening and likely focused towards the southern parts of the valley. Thursday looks like a nice transition day, setting up an absolutely perfect weekend of weather. Get it in fellas.
  2. I second the motion. Looks like I'll top out at 94 here, as temps now plummeting with storms skimming the area.
  3. A steamy low of 75 here. More folks should see some storm action today I reckon. The weekend of perfection draws nearer.
  4. High of 94. A couple more days of this nonsense and then some relief.
  5. Higher terrain in those areas. Higher than many people realize, and yes much more rural as you alluded to.
  6. Low of 73. Today and tomorrow just look straight nasty. Hopefully we can catch a storm tomorrow to ease the pain. Relief on the way for the weekend.
  7. No sir. I had a lot of close misses yesterday.
  8. Go ahead and tie one on would ya. You taking the train down?
  9. Stunning. We are like 5 miles apart as the crow flies and I ended with .01”. Completely surrounded for a good portion of last evening but just couldn’t cash in. Got to love summertime convection and the winners and losers it creates. A low of 71 here — the air is thick.
  10. Meanwhile just a .01” spritzer over here. And oh yeah, another day of me not hitting 90, topped out at 89.
  11. Whiskey and light beer, that's my game and I don't care who knows it!
  12. .01" of rain for me yesterday. The name of the game right now is humidity and sporadic storms, otherwise known as August.
  13. I'm not sure but I know I've been around 80 before. That's usually about the upper limit for these parts. I'm currently sitting at 91/74 here in the lowlands of West Hempfield Township. Yuck. Edit: I did find a note I made from August 13, 2016 saying I hit a temp of 98 with a dewpoint of 80 on my home station, for a heat index of 119 haha.
  14. Low of 69 here. To me, the big story the next five days or so is the unrelenting humidity. Just brutal. But as is often the case with such an airmass in place, we should see near-daily chances for storm activity, albeit mostly of the sporadic nature.
  15. Another day of not hitting 90s for me — high of 89 here.
  16. .22" in the gauge this morning from that little storm complex that rolled through overnight. Things greening up here again.
  17. Some more fun facts: The highest temp we reached in July both this year and last year was 96. We have only hit 100 degrees on one single day in July in the last ten years, that being July 19, 2020. We have only hit it once in the last 20 years in August, only three times ever and not since 1966 in June, only one time in history in September (1953), and never in May. I think generally, all of us are a bit guilty at times of underplaying just how rare it is to hit 100 around these parts. Please note this is all in the context of official Harrisburg-Middletown area records.
  18. Hope everyone had a great weekend. I got a nice drenching last night, to the tune of .97". My total for July is 4.09". I'm running almost spot-on average for the year. Looks like MDT ended July with 3.33" of rain and 1.6 degrees above normal, tying 1921 as tenth warmest ever. Also, someone had brought this up earlier, but we ended up tying for the fourth highest average low July temp at 70.1.
  19. Low of 65 and .09” of rain. Feels great out. Glorious weekend on tap. Enjoy.
