  1. I can't blame ya for that decision. Come Saturday afternoon I may be wishing I had done the same ha. Might be time for a new pair of long johns. Almost forgot.....Penn State!
  2. Yes sir. Reserved tickets as soon as they sent the email out to season ticket holders weeks ago. I don't know if it'll be a sellout, due to the myriad of issues discussed earlier in this thread, but I'll be there doing my part. Tailgating bright and early. We plan to be there right when the lots open at 7am. Frosty.
  3. Nobody thinks that. If they do they're a fool. No team in this bracket can afford to take any other team lightly. No real gusts forecasted but winds pretty consistent out of the north around 10mph. Juuuuust enough to add to the chill. It's gonna be a damn cold game, tailgating even more so. If we're lucky, ground may even be white due to some light Friday snowfall.
  4. Couldn’t even see the runway at MDT as we went by on the train. #ThickFog
  5. .08” of rainfall. State College now projected to have a high of 29 Saturday with a low of 10. I dig it.
  6. .1" of snow and .55" of total liquid. MDT not even managing to record a tenth of an inch of snow seems highly suspect but nothing we haven't seen before from that place. Really liking how the weather is shaping up for the PSU game on Saturday. Wouldn't be shocked to see a few stray flakes flying through the air either. Sad about how things went down with Beau. Timing is obviously not ideal. College football, for as great as it is, is such a mess in so many ways right now.
  7. I like where your head’s at! Still feel like the Packers are a year away but man they’re not a team that anyone is going to want to play early in the playoffs. NFC North is just brutal.
  8. You doubled me up, as .1” will go in the books here. Still pleased to see wintry and hopeful for more in the not too distant future.
  9. A beautiful evening here in West Hempfield Township. We will have our first measurable snowfall of the season, which was not expected. Excited to see who can cash in north of harrisburg. Packers play the late game tonight so I’ll be hanging around ha.
  10. Thanks mate. Not like it’s anything too special but i do think they’ll be some surprises with this one. Never expected us southerners to be in the game.
  11. Low of 21, currently sitting at 28/21. Continue to like this event for true central PA, particularly the corridor from state college to scranton. Could be some 6” lollipops, perhaps even a little south of that corridor. No show down this way but would love to see some fat wet snow globe flakes, which I think we will at some point, albeit briefly. No need to throw 10:1 maps around in a marginal event like this. As always, put me in Laporte. Ah you know what, put me on top of Seven Mountains for this one and call it a day. Cheers!
  12. Impressive chill out this way today. Sitting at 33. I imagine a number of places will fail to get above freezing. As others have mentioned, the lack of wind is much welcomed.
  13. Already down to 22 here with a forecasted low of 17. How low can we go?
  14. Exactly haha. I'm not exactly holding my breath. A large scale upper level trough hanging around over the holidays could be fun though.
  15. The GFS gets very wonky and interesting from late next week on. It's probably nothing but may be something. Riveting analysis, I know.
  16. Happy Friday, all. Low of 19, which was a major bust low around these parts. National high of 81 at Marana, AZ and low of -22 near Roseau, MN.
  17. This was a concern of mine from the get-go. The whole format starts to put a lot of pressure on fans. Many already traveled last week to Indy and many more are hoping to travel next week to the Fiesta. Then you throw in it being arguably the largest family-gathering holiday weekend of the year and the students already being out of session (most of the unsold tickets are within the extra portions of the student section) and yeah, it could be tough to notch a sellout. Plus maybe not the marquee opponent many were hoping for. If the forecast gets real cold or snowy that doesn't help either. With all that said, by the time game time rolls around next weekend I think the stadium will be full, or at the very least won't be noticeably missing people when viewed on television. We shall see.
  18. Apologies if this has already been mentioned, but anybody keeping an eye on this potential for Sunday into Monday? Cold is marginal but places in true central PA like State College could see a few inches. I could see this being one of those events that surprises and amps up a bit as we approach game time.
  19. Keeping in mind that my days run from ~6am-6am (You are standard midnight cutoff for your measurements correct?), I got .23" Monday, .4" Tuesday, and 1.03" Wednesday.
  20. I would love nothing more. Well, the snow that is, not the spending 3k haha. Luckily my best friend's family lives in State College and they keep an open-door policy for us throughout the football season, so no worries with hotels these days. Very thankful for that benefit.
  21. You really put a whopping on me this time, as my 3-day was only 1.66". I had to go back to Aug. 6 to exceed that, when I got 2.27" from torrential T'storms, including one that dropped an inch in 20 minutes. I'll be there. Give me all of it and more.
