  1. .22" in the gauge this morning from that little storm complex that rolled through overnight. Things greening up here again.
  2. Some more fun facts: The highest temp we reached in July both this year and last year was 96. We have only hit 100 degrees on one single day in July in the last ten years, that being July 19, 2020. We have only hit it once in the last 20 years in August, only three times ever and not since 1966 in June, only one time in history in September (1953), and never in May. I think generally, all of us are a bit guilty at times of underplaying just how rare it is to hit 100 around these parts. Please note this is all in the context of official Harrisburg-Middletown area records.
  3. Hope everyone had a great weekend. I got a nice drenching last night, to the tune of .97". My total for July is 4.09". I'm running almost spot-on average for the year. Looks like MDT ended July with 3.33" of rain and 1.6 degrees above normal, tying 1921 as tenth warmest ever. Also, someone had brought this up earlier, but we ended up tying for the fourth highest average low July temp at 70.1.
  4. Low of 65 and .09” of rain. Feels great out. Glorious weekend on tap. Enjoy.
  5. Your wish is my command. Looks like 11 out of 24 (two years missing) at or below normal. But when average high is 97, yeah that's hot haha. 1981-08-06 96 74 0.00 M M 1982-08-06 101 71 0.00 M M 1983-08-06 98 75 T M M 1984-08-06 99 75 0.00 M M 1985-08-06 101 77 0.00 M M 1986-08-06 94 73 T M M 1987-08-06 97 75 0.00 M M 1988-08-06 99 76 0.00 M M 1989-08-06 100 75 0.00 M M 1990-08-06 93 72 0.00 M M 1991-08-06 99 74 0.00 M M 1992-08-06 95 74 0.00 M M 1993-08-06 101 74 0.00 0.0 0 1994-08-06 97 67 0.00 0.0 0 1995-08-06 96 79 0.00 0.0 0 1996-08-06 M M M M M 1997-08-06 M M M M M 1998-08-06 89 72 0.27 0.0 0 1999-08-06 99 71 0.00 0.0 0 2000-08-06 100 75 0.00 0.0 0 2001-08-06 102 69 0.00 0.0 0 2002-08-06 96 70 0.00 0.0 0 2003-08-06 100 68 0.00 0.0 0 2004-08-06 94 74 0.00 0.0 0 2005-08-06 96 69 0.00 0.0 0 2006-08-06 100 71 0.03 0.0 0
  6. The record low max, by a whopping 5 degrees no less, is 65 in 1993. Record max, by an even greater 6 degrees, is 104 in 1918.

Looks like more than half at or below normal. Sorry Canderson I had to
  8. 91 here as well, to go along with .29" of total qpf. Edit: and one fallen tree ha
  9. That line had some violent winds over here. I lost one of those stupid weak-wooded Bradford Pear Trees. God I hate those things. Have to get some chainsaws down here tomorrow.
  10. I got a little over a tenth of an inch from that. Looks like we may get another line move through here shortly.
  11. Pleasantly surprised to see .27" in the gauge this morning. Judging from some WU reports around me, it was the result of a couple of very brief (<5 mins) but heavy bursts around the 11/12 o'clock hours. Surprised I didn't hear any of it but I was out hard last night ha. Looks like we have a couple of nasty sticky days ahead with additional isolated storm chances, before things turn gorgeous for the weekend. Onward.
  12. Just had the boy out in the yard for a while. A perfect day for doing some outdoor work. Looks like a couple of spotty chances for storms throughout the week.
  13. .04" of rain yesterday and a whole lot of sweating. Just a brutal day to be in a suit all day, as we laid my wife's father to rest. Feels much better this morning.
  14. Low of 78. Yuck. Have to be in a suit all day, not fun.
  15. 92 down here at noon but dews still not too bad.
  16. High of 95. But honestly, these recent 90+ days haven’t felt all that bad.
  17. My precip the last few days: Sat - .23" Sun - .18" Mon - .01" July total thus far: 2.43" My posting has been limited and will likely continue to be for a bit longer, as my wife's father passed away this past weekend. Not totally unexpected but still felt sudden, if that makes sense. He was only in his early 60s but had a number of serious health ailments. Still much too soon. Anyway, enjoy the heat fellas and hug your fathers if you're still lucky enough to have one.
  18. I topped out at 89. Was on the river most of the day though. Maiden voyage for the new ride. Couldn’t have been a better day. Impossible, really.
  19. Haha that’s a whole other ballgame. We’re only working with 90hp so we won’t be hitting 70 anytime soon! Was hoping to sleep in a bit today but the toddler had me up at the butt crack of dawn ugh.
