  1. Even the lowest model outputs are now over 5 to 6 inches for most of our area. Any shift from 15 to 40 miles west and we are talking snow in feet. As it stands we are in a gd position and I do expect this wiggle west.
  2. It might be possible that nyc cashes in when the western edge mega death band sets up and doesn't move much for hours. Usually its parked in nw jersey but since it's east of the bm ..it could park itself right on top of nyc or just west. No one knows where these bands will set up so who knows. I do think nyc proper gets 8 to 12 easy.
  3. All this while packing the power of a equivalent cat 3 hurricane..at its lowest its 956 mb's on the euro.
  4. I just got home and yup this is def more snow then the anafront in terms of accumulations every thing is in a white coat, including sidewalks.
  5. Well atleast we tack on some snow on the backend which looks really gd as of rn. Gd radar blossoming atm..officially had 1.2 inches up here in the bx before it changed..temp barely got to 40 here, now it's dropping again.
  6. This is def trending south and east a bit. Its probably gonna go over nyc or just east at its current trajectory. That high pressure is really strong and really doesn't wanna budge. Currently 31f and moderate snow here in the nw bronx, still no taint.
  7. It's really starting to come down now..wind blown snow here in the northern bx. So far so gd with the mix line staying south for now. We got some heavy stuff incoming also, its a race rn.
  8. It's current movement is now east/ne..another low has also popped off the coast of s.c and high pressure is trying to hold strong giving it a more eastern movement. I think the low itself doesn't end up in Central PA as the models have it but it's still ongoing. Lets see how it moves next few hours..
  9. Many moving parts to this system..while it's gonna come north. Where it decides to will be important and if a full phase even occurs. The northern stream energy is behind sched.
  10. Meanwhile she keeps chugging east at a decent clip, that northernstream energy is kinda lagging behind sched. if one was to look at the current water vapor and satellite loops we can already see how there is still a very slim chance it doesn't phase. Real time obs are prob best for actually figuring out how much west or east she might go.
  11. Yeah it looks that way although I actually think it becomes more interesting as it approaches. I'm not really sold on the whole hard phase scenario. It's still a evolving sit tbh.
  12. I agree ..but recent runs do show occlusion happening much faster for us in the upper levels. The euro, rgem and navgem show this scenario. It would cut off that that easterly flow fast if trickles east or pops a new low east, which some models are hinting at.
  13. At this point to have any chance at all would be a win,all I'm saying is run per run it's still a possibility that this goes east,im not sold on the whole hard phase. Its also kind of hard to get a low to go almost due north in any climotological setting, even with minimal blocking.
  14. Every run is looking a bit more promising if you want frozen precip. The low keeps popping every so slighty east and occlusion happens much faster for nyc compared to the older guidance. It's still possible for this to shift a bit more south and east, esp if the high is under modeled in strength. Any low developing east of acy is gonna be a win for us. Let's see what 18z brings.
  15. Just had a intense snow squall pass by..winds and snow almost made it to zero visibility..everything is white again.
  16. The final accumulation for my area was 7.5 inches..not bad for most of the bronx honestly..7 is the average..def more then the forecasted 3-5 ..
  17. Still snowing moderately here and temp dropped a degree to 28f..7.3 down. A 6 to 9 is def a win for all of us..how lga is almost at 9 is crazy, but localized bands do add here and there so it's def not out the question.
  18. Most of nyc is over 6+..reguardless of how we slice it. Also it's still snowing..in some parts of the city the actual snow total might be over 7 inches with localized bands. We indeed overperformed which is fine by me.
  19. Yeah so nyc is ranging from 5 to prob 8 inches in some spots by now..keep in mind it's still Coming down. Here in the bronx I know for a fact we have 7 prob closer to 8.. the way its been snowing for the last 2 hours..
