  1. Same here. Starting to stick. Maybe we keep this up on and off all night and get lucky under the upper level low tomorrow morning under a heavier band.
  2. Bands keeping reforming to our west. Biggest flakes of the day right now in danieltown.
  3. I know we are far removed from these times but Marion used to kick butt in the snowfall department in the 80s and 90s. It was like they were apart of the high mountains. I know it has not been like that the last decade or so.
  4. I agree. We blew it big time with all the cold we had. Nothing new. Just another winter here in the foothills.
  5. Warm February is good for nothing in Winter. You should know by now what a warm February is going to bring you in March and April and sometimes May.
  6. I knew it wouldn't be long until you brought up spring again.
  7. Great! Should start here any minute. Thanks buddy.
  8. That's awesome my friend. Happy for you. Enjoy it!
  9. This is one of the few times I'm glad I'm just 11 miles north of the SC border. Keep on trending NW baby!
  10. Storm total around 1.5 just southwest of Forest City. Wish we could of stayed Snow longer but was expecting the warm nose. Hoping for a big dog in the next few weeks for us all. On to the next one hopefully.
  11. Trying to turn to all snow again after the last hour of the tiniest flakes and sleet. Still accumulating on everything. Roads will be worse tomorrow with all these layers packed down and frozen overnight. Snow on sleet on freezing rain now going back to snow. It does remind me of the 80s and 90s storms that we used to get so often back then. I take it as a huge win compared to the last 3 winters for us in the foothills.
  12. Same here. Light sleet mixed in with mosty freezing rain since a little bit before 5pm. Trying to go back to mostly sleet now. Hopefully we change back over to snow later this evening. You just gotta love the warm nose around here. She never lets us down time and time again. Still sitting on a inch getting compacted now.
  13. Same here in Danieltown just south of you. Heaviest and biggest flakes of the day so far. Looks like we are getting ready to get going good now with heavier rates. Just about to pass the 1 inch mark here in SW Rutherford county.
  14. Just started light flurries 5 miles east of Columbus 10 minutes ago.
  15. I sure hope so. Been waiting a long time for a shot a winter weather. Hope it comes to fruition. Always enjoy reading your posts. Merry Christmas.
  16. Same in Rutherford county. Will take a long long time to recover. Helene is the benchmark now and unfortunately puts Hugo to shame around here. Prayers for everyone and prayers for you and your family.
  17. Praying for everyone in the path of this storm. Everyone please be safe and help your friends family and neighbors as much and safely as possible. Approaching 6 inches so far sw Rutherford county. Let's batten down the hatches. Prayers for everyone involved.
  18. Same here. It's just as bad. I thought the early 90s were bad 89-93 before the blizzard hit but no this takes the cake. Early 90s I considered a dusting or watching it snow for a few hours but not stick was awful and we got several coatings and dustings then and at least a few ice storms in those years but boy was I wrong. I would give a lot just to see something frozen or just see it snow for a few minutes. It's that bad and I am at a loss of words. I don't see anything changing going forward.
  19. Yeah I'm going for the triple crown next year. 3 straight snowless winters. Might as well. I don't see anything changing to break this pattern the rest of this winter or next.
  20. Yeah this patten east of the mountains is making me sick. Hard to stomach watching that one today. The short lived cold coming up is just a waste in my opinion then back to warm and rain. I don't have a clue anymore what it's going to take to get snow in the foothills anymore. Seems impossible right now.
  21. Going on 2 years here in Forest City without a flake of Snow here in a couple of days back to January 2022. I remember the first time I seen Snow falling that I could remember I was like about 3 in 85-86 and I instantly fell in love with Snow and Winter and I remember my dad saying son we live in one of the hardest places on the earth to get Snow. Everything has to be perfect around here to get Snow and it's just as true today as the day he said it almost 40 years ago. Only my second time in 41 years I have seen 2 year stretches without a flake of Snow. I don't know what else to say about it anymore more. It's like there is a wall up east of the Apps. I know the storms get broke up going over the mountains some as always to get into the foothills but this is just crazy. When we are waiting for February for Snow around here it's a pretty bad sign of the times.
