They got around 1.5 inches of snow and the temperature dropped down to 32 degrees 113 years ago tomorrow. I sure wish it was happening again tomorrow but pretty unbelievable it happened in Atlanta at all so close to May.

Yeah good riddance on this past no winter. Filed away right beside 2011-12. Burn baby burn. Hoping for it to never return.

Yeah it's been a disaster. Only my second snowless winter in 42 years. Pitiful.

Yeah this is the time we really need it but will the cold still be cold enough to avoid another cold rain if tracks far enough nw. Hasn't worked out once this winter but I'm still all in. I want losing any sleep over it not working out.

I'm with you brother. This winter has hurt big time. Nothing has worked out outside of the mountains and they haven't seen much either compared to averages. I'm on the brink of getting blanked for only the second time since 81-82. The only other time was 11-12. I'm just wanting to see a flake at this point. Seen about 9 sleet pellets so far. I'm hanging in till the bitter end as always like you. I always do. Thank you for all your insight and the anylasis and the hard work you put in to your research. I always look forward to reading what you have to say. I really enjoy it. Hoping for a miracle.

Yeah. Real cold even down here. Sitting at 23 currently with a real hard freeze. Coldest morning since Feb 4th.

I bet next winter will be the same. Probably take another winter like this one before we climb all the way back out of the crapper. Nothing tells me next winter el nino or another la nina 4th in a row if that happened will be any different. Just a bad vibe this winter pattern will continue for awhile for us and out west will reign supreme and if the cold does come south it will go due south straight to Texas. I don't know if we ever break out of this kind of pattern in winters to come. The way it's looking and feeling it might take years to break. I have no idea how that Christmas cold snap materialized. I bet we don't sniff cold like that again for another 5-10 years if we're lucky.

Waiting long? What are you talking about. Are you the end all be all of weather in the southeast. I enjoy warm weather as much as the next person. I do. I've experienced 40 years of the heat and humidity around here in the se. Why can't a few of us enjoy the cold before the furnace turns on full blast through Halloween. You have got to experience spring and even some summer like weather just about the last 3 months outside of a few days around Christmas. Why all the hate on some of us wanting to see some cold and winter weather chances in March. You have got to experience record warmth lately and your complaining about a little cold coming in March. Send me to the looney bin for liking the cold. And for the fruit crop getting destroyed that's what happens when you have no winter and this happens. I hate it but I've seen it over and over around here when you want a warm winter. Post all the warm maps you want. Whatever makes you feel better.

Yeah me to. That's what I dream about at night. Never give up hope. It will happen again one day. Hopefully sooner than later.

Yeah I remember getting 6 inches and thundersnow out of that one. Places around Gaffney in northern Cherokee and Cleveland county got hammered with near a foot in some parts of the county.

I'll take it anytime anyway I can get it. No matter what month day or time. We hardly get any in the best winters. March is fine by me. Anything to hold off spring and the heat and humidity around the corner. We have had spring around here in our so called winter this year. I'll take a March miracle.

Yeah the fog has been bad the past couple of months in the foothills. Unless there's a miracle way down the road it looks like we could very well get blanked this winter in the southern foothills. It will be only my second winter in Rutherford county since starting in 1981-82 in the last 41 years not to record at least a trace of snow, sleet, freezing rain or anything in the frozen department. The only other time I got blanked was in the horrible winter of 2011-12. This winter would and probably will be the second snowless in the last 41 years. If it wasn't for that Christmas cold snap I would say this winter would be worse than 2011-12 with all the cold rainy days. I just don't know what to expect down the road later in February or March except rain and more rain and then some more rain.

Looks like flooding issues around here next week. Nowhere to put anymore water. Currently 22 this morning.
