  1. Hardly anything coming down by me. At best, a very fine misty rain. Just took a walk and the ground is merely wet right now.
  2. I honestly wouldn't hate it. We had some nice snow events. I'm all-in for an early spring. Let's get to the nicer weather and get people outside again. Might help in dealing with the virus as the vaccine rollout continues.
  3. Absolutely. We’ve had some incredible storms during that time period and I can remember Yankees opening day at the Stadium being played in snow a couple times...1996 and 2003 in particular. The nights can be frigid too.
  4. True but if it means we dodge serious ice storms, I don’t think anyone will mind.
  5. Is tonight looking like less of a threat? Not seeing much buzz on here.
  6. I hope so. It’s definitely starting to weigh on people. Biden now claims that there will be enough vaccines for 300 million people by the end of July. Have to keep those variants in check though.
  7. Glad you were able to enjoy it. My barber does the same thing here in Jersey when I get a haircut. As far as I know, not a single case has emanated from there since they reopened in June. I've never been called and advised that I might have been exposed. I go about every three weeks. My gym has done the same thing. You have to sign in and sign out in addition to the temperature check upon arrival. I think they have had two known cases since September and one was a false positive.
  8. Well, I'm not exactly upset about not having below zero temperatures. That's just foul. Cold enough for snow is good for me. I find that I have much less tolerance for extreme cold than I did even a few years ago. I could spend hours on end playing pond hockey in my 20's and not feel a thing. Not sure if I could do it now.
  9. It's quite a marvel to look at from the safety of home but I don't want to be on the roads. Look at the highway disaster in Texas yesterday. Power lines and tree limbs going down are always a concern too.
  10. That was pure misery. Took at least an hour to get that crap off my car and the drive home was awful.
  11. That sounds like it was an incredible winter in a lot of places. I think DC was hit with a huge snowstorm the day before JFK was inaugurated.
  12. I remember a Rangers game at the Garden being postponed because of one of those storms, which hardly ever happens. Think it was against Quebec sometime in February.
  13. I bought some dumbbells on eBay in late spring/early summer. I know I overpaid for them but I had to get some kind of workout in, as Jersey gyms didn't reopen until September. Not being able to lift at all was starting to get to me. I was doing pushups but it just wasn't the same. Completely agree on cardio with a mask. I don't know how you can really go hard while wearing one. I'd rather jog outside on side streets without much foot traffic or at the local high school track.
  14. Guess the smell of hockey equipment after a practice or game doesn't kill the virus after all. What's interesting is that the NBA doesn't appear to have had nearly as many COVID-related issues in its season thus far.
  15. Not judging either way. I can understand both sides of the issue. I just don't have enough confidence in it right now. One man's opinion. I'll keep wearing the mask and distancing for now. I don't have a burning desire to get back to anything with big crowds. As long as they keep the gyms open in New Jersey, I'm satisfied.
  16. I'm not getting it for a long while. If that means I can't go to games or concerts, so be it. Ditto for traveling. I'm content to stay home.
  17. Haven't seen a flake in Little Falls, New Jersey (southern Passaic County, bordering Essex County). Not complaining, given how much we've seen lately.
  18. Yeah, that was a bad sequence. They kind of lost composure there also. Mathieu was really going crazy. Didn’t like all the jawing he did with Brady either. Tough calls are going to happen but you have to keep your head in a big game.
  19. Pretty incredible stretch in what had been a lackluster winter until about a week ago. I’ll take it all.
  20. I do think the Chiefs could have made better adjustments on offense. Maybe more runs (draws, traps, etc) to quell the rush and quick throws by Mahomes to get the ball out of his hands faster. It seemed like they ran a lot of routes that took way too long to develop given how little time 15 had. The Chiefs rely heavily on deeper vertical routes but you need good protection for those.
  21. I can’t even blame Mahomes for last night. He kept some plays alive on absolute jailbreak rushes. A lot of quarterbacks would have been sacked a dozen times. The Chiefs’ had no line and no answer for Brady and Gronk once they got going. Tampa mixed in some nice runs for balance also. The Bucs were the better team, there’s no denying it. The Chiefs will be back. Heck, would it shock anyone if we get the same matchup next year?
  22. The right lane on a lot of roads will be out of commission for awhile. Will also need to be extra cautious making turns with the huge piles in so many spots.
  23. The media forecasts often seem behind the curve in my opinion. That or they just go conservative because they don't want to be accused of needlessly hyping a storm.
  24. Will be even better for the Super Bowl ratings if the most populated area of the country is snowed in on Sunday. Between that, the virus keeping people home and Brady vs. Mahomes, this game could do a monster rating.
